Downey mate. Respect for coming down from Hamilton for the game and doing the overnight drive back. Do you do that every home game?
Was a good result, given we were missing 7 players. Cech played an absolute blinder again and it could've been a different story otherwise. I still think there is something lacking in us that we had when Jose was Manager. We used to be able to grind out results when playing badly but we seem less capable of that now. A difficult week coming up with Inter on Weds and then Citeh on Saturday. That said, a nice a 4 point gap now - just need to keep/get players fit again.
he always tends to which continues to amaze me, his hunger for those big occasions is a huge asset too us, a number of times he has bailed us out with a bit of magic when it really counts, not unlike ronaldo did for utd but with s very differnet set of skills to him
yea ivanovic can play anywhere across the back 4 i think. im picking drogba to step up for tommorows big occasion
not ideal but definitly still in it. havnt seen the game but from the sounds of it we had some good chances and played well for some spells. not sure on the extent of cechs injury but doesnt sound good at all
For sure. Citeh are joint with us this season for the least number of losses in the league (4). But they have started to look a little more vulnerable over the last month. I'd guess Hilario will play in goal and Ferreira will get the nod at left-back if Zhirkov is still out. I fancy us though...
I couldn't care less about Bridge. JT offered his hand and proved the bigger man on this occasion.
good to see us finally take advantage of man utd slipping up. good solid clinical performance

nah not every game but when i can. will be back down for the jets
i tend to agree with you there. the draw against hull and the loss to everton at such crucial points was a real let down. but hey 4 points clear now
inter will be very tough. not sure yet if zhirkov will be ok to play LB. maybe ivanovic or ferriera
i have confidence we can beat city, the lads will want some revenge after last game against them
Looks like Zhirkov is definitely out tomorrow night. Ferreira wasn't registered to play in the Champions League this season so he's not an option either. Belletti and Alex are back so I would assume we'll see either Belletti or Ivanovic filling in at left-back and the other at right-back tomorrow night. I know Ivan has played left-back in his career so maybe he'll get the nod... Bring on the Inter!

im really hoping joe cole can get back to his best. with him and malouda playing well on the wings and switching sides we look a much better team i reckon
should be a great match, im picking we will tough it out in italy, possibly even sneak a win but an away goal will do then comfortable at home
Agreed with you both on Drogba. Always seems to pull something out of the bag when it's really needed.
The one big plus tonight is that Inter don't have any fit left-backs either, so it's a nice level playing field. Word is that Zanetti will have to fill in.
I fancy us to get something tonight, be it a draw or a win. An away goal is key though. Fortunately for us, Cech has hit form at just the right time too.
CAREFREE WHEREVER YOU MAY BE...!!!

malouda at LB. didnt pick that one at all
f**king sh*t start for f**ks sake.
still, as long as we get an away goal or 2 we will be in it
Wow maybe not the most likely of scores when we needed one but a nice goal all the same, great stuff lads, push on now and take advantage!!
PHuck!!!
Bloody hell, thats poor, we seemed asleep around our box!

Dammit and now Cech is down and off, starting to get that sinking feeling.

Yea after they scored the 2nd we really dug in and dominated the last 15 minutes but couldnt find that last ball when needed, good signs coming home in two weeks though.
Cech went down and went off immediatly, didnt look good!

its his calf that is injured, not his knee, so thats some positive news
I don't think we played anywhere near to the standard we can - the passing was awful especially in midfield. Lampard looked very out of sorts and I still don't rate Mikel. He's too eager to get forward when what we need is a Makelele-style holding man to protect the back four. Carvalho had a decent game but JT was somewhat at fault for the first goal. Ivanovic was our best player by a country mile and Drogba's free-kick that rattled the bar was so unlucky.
We should've had a penalty right before half-time. Everyone could see it apart from the ref and the lino. Kalou (who looked busy in the first-half) clearly had his standing leg taken when in on goal. Having said that, I don't see anything to worry us at home and I expect us to go through. We need a proper left-back fit as Malouda (not unexpectedly) looked out of place. Cech's injury looks nasty. While Hilario doesn't let us down for a couple of games at a time, I don't think we can get away with him or Turnbull for a run of consecutive matches.
We'll be a different proposition at the Bridge. Bring it on!

yea appears it was a clear cut penalty but oh well, cant dwell on these things.
for now attention turns to man city this weekend. thats a tricky fixture

Chelsea fans booing Bridge every time he touches the ball. Pathetic.
Lolz at bridge not shaking Terry's hand.
Tevez's glol was awesome
holy sh*t this games exploded lol city had nothing for most of the first half
That pen was pretty harsh. I'll take it though.
Chelsea imploding. Down to 9 after filthy Ballack challenge.
yeah im as far from a chelsea fan as anyone could possibly be, so im loving this.

Bellamy's interview at the end was hilarious
was classic. Need a transcript.
Just back from the Bridge - not good. Regarding the hand shake, I couldn't care less about Bridge. JT offered his hand and proved the bigger man on this occasion. That's not to say I don't understand why Bridge has the hump though.
Anyway, the game was one to forget for us. I thought we controlled the first half and we looked like the only team going to win it. The goal just before half-time changed everything. Mikel was (once again) caught too far up the pitch when he's supposed to be a holding man. He cocked up his header and then JT should've had Tevez in his pocket. Carvalho can't really be blamed as he was covering in the middle. Hilario should've done better too. The penalty and sending off was ridiculous - Belletti never touched Barry and if we're giving penalties for that, I should give up playing as I'll be sent off every week from now on. Ballack was stupid to make the second challenge he did - no arguments there.
Ancelotti should not have taken Joe Cole off - he was our only source of flair in the midfield. He should've played Ferreira at left-back, instead of Malouda who's a winger anyway. And I think we may need to get a keeper in on loan. Hilario, who is usually doable for a couple of games here and there, was awful today. He was exposed by the back four, but he should've done better with the first two. Now we need to rally and press on... very quickly.

i agree with that ^^
No doubt with 1st penalty for me, without red card tho.
Second red card - sometimes, I just can't stand Ballack's attitude on the pitch. He makes some ridiculuos, aggresive and dangerous challenges when he can't control his emotions. The ones that can really ruin some players carrers. It was the case with today's challenge on Tevez. Should get an extra ban for this from my point of view.

real classy mate
Chelsea crumbling like Cashley and JTs marriage
Hilarious. Except that I wanted Chelsea to win!
Oh dear. Bad day at the office.
On another point, does anyone else think Bridge is playing the victim a little too much? Wasn't it his EX-girlfriend after all? The one he was happy to leave behind when he moved to Manchester? Admittedly you would never want your ex to hook up with one of your mates but really... I don't think anyone really cares how it plays out off the pitch. And Craig Bellamy having a pop at JT for his behaviour - hilarious.
Both post deleted.
Not called for.
Banstick if you keep it up.
Trust me im in the mood.
