Not even sure I want that though, as I think your lead is insurmountable now.
So at this stage I would probably just rather spurs missed out on fourth.

If it's any consolation, I really can't see past Man City for 4th. They have had a superb second half to the season and look very strong at the moment. I don't think Spurs can keep pace with them.
Downey, I agree we need to be starting with Malouda and Joey on Saturday. We got beaten there under Hiddink so we need to exact a modicum of revenge, despite our 3-0 win earlier this season. I would start with Drogba over Anelka up front. If we win on Saturday, I think we've done enough.
Finally a ref with the balls to send Terry off - he's had that coming all season.
Don't you also love how he talks to the refs as if he's best mates with them?

Once again we've done our bit to make the title run-in nice and exciting for the neutrals. Zhirkov, Cech and Alex (and Ivanovic when he came on) aside, that performance was not one of champions-elect. One can't help but think we'd have had the title wrapped up ages ago under Jose.
well i very much agree with you there paul. just a generaly poor performance by us. though tottenham did play bloody well, gave us no room to attack
come on lads. we counting on you. another 3 points tonight please
f**king hell you lot really are a bunch of sad obsessed freaks aren't you?

Well Downey, personally I'd go for Essien but either way I think it's a reasonable choice. Personally, I'm going for Ivanovic this year unless Carvalho stays. He's my usual shirt name.
so paulSG, im guna get one of them new shirts, cant make my mind up on wether to get malouda or essien on the back.

You still have to come to fortress Anfield!!!
That's very true, but I think a win over the Spuds and then at home to Stoke will be enough. We don't want to HAVE to win at Anfield if possible, although I believe we're more than capable the way we're playing.
Arsenal and the Mancs still have to play Citeh and they are in real form at the moment so I fancy (or should that just be hoping?) both our rivals will drop points by the time we get to Anfield. Having said that, it would be sweet to win it Anfield should we have to...
yea imagine winning the title at anfiled, that would be something. but yes if we can get past spuds this weekend its one more tough fixture out the way, then back it up with a victory at home v stoke
yay we won the coin toss so get to wear our home strip at wembly
And a very nice strip it is. I'm not a fan of Adidas but I do like the red on the collar to honour the Chelsea Pensioners. Nice to see that, even in these modern times where football is big business, we still respect our heritage.

I reckon - should have gone v Villa and Bolton

Three games to go and all to play for...
f**k
still, gota re focus now, 3 games 2 go. 2 at home. still ours to win

lets just hope tottenham can get something at OT. at least there will be no torres for our trip to anfield
another article on soccernet about kun joining us, jeez that would be a very good signing. especially given his age and the age of our strikers now
I think another striker will be essential this summer as I have a strong suspicion we'll be saying goodbye to Anelka.
We've also been strongly linked with Steven Pienaar at Everton. I think he's a superb player but if it's true, then it would signal the end for Ballack and/or Deco I would imagine.
Personally, I'd love to see us go for James Milner at Villa. I've been seriously impressed by him the last couple of seasons and he's played well for England whenever called upon this year too. I think he'd be a brilliant signing for us - very versatile too.
The trip to Anfield will be interesting. I've heard so many scousers say they'd rather lose 5-0 to us than let the Mancs break their titles record. Sadly, I can't see it being that simple.

yes definatly another striker. i wouldnt be to sad to see anelka go, hes done great for us, especially last season when drogba was out for some time but these days we play better when employing a lone striker and for now that lone striker is drogba, dont really need a 30yr old guy coming off the bench. save that job for some younger guys
pienaar wouldnt be to bad a buy, as for ballack and/or deco leaving, whilst i like them one has to ask how much the can contribute to the team next term. i dont think theyre exactly game winning material
as for milner, yea he would be good to get, been very impressed with him this season.
and finally onto the trip to anfield, for now my focus is on stoke but that is in the back of my mind. its an old cliche but apt now more than ever, we just need to take this one game at a time and make sure we win them
looks like mikel wont start vs stoke due to his injury. im guessing that ballack will play to strengthen up the midfield
I agree, Downey. I think Carlo probably will go with Ballack in the holding role. Personally, I would prefer to see Deco play it though. He did it against Birmingham at the Bridge, and did it well. He actually does have a very physical side to his game when the occasion demands. Ballack just looks far too pedestrian for my liking. Alternatively, Belletti can play that role or the young Matic, thought that may be a risk too far at this stage.
Of course, we were hoping Essien would be back but it looks like he's lost to next season. I believe Mikel is aiming to be back for Anfield the following Sunday.
yes ballack has looked pedestrian at times but im hoping he slots into the role easily this weekend if he plays. lampard is efficient at going back to tackle and i think he could perform in a holding role but without him surging forward the may be the missing link to the front 3
come on lads. we counting on you. another 3 points tonight please
man what a game!! 3rd time we have hit 7, getting better each time too (7-2, 7-1, 7-0)
the whole team played bloody well as the scoreline would suggest, really good to see kalou get some goals, lamps aswell now the most hes scored in 1 season. the cross from hutcinson was class, as was his finish and sturridge finished very nicely.
a special mention to malouda's miss. one of the best ive seen, we truly could have scored 10 today

so good to have ashley cole back aswell, though zhirkov has been outstanding in his absence

well i am....cant really speak for the rest though
will be an interesting game next week
Awesome performance by the lads. Surely must have set some sort of record for the number of times a team has hit 7 in one season????? Not a single player put a foot wrong against Stoke. I have always been very critical of Kalou but I thought he was superb today and looked hungry. I also thought Ballack did a good job in the holding role. His distribution was second to none. My only gripe would be the usually dependable Ivanovic getting skinned too often by Ricardo Fuller in the first half, but that's me being devil's advocate.
And so, if the title is going to be decided on goal difference, we've done ourselves the power of good. Scousers next up but the Mancs won't find it easy going to Sunderland where Arsenal and Perennial strugglers Perennial strugglers Liverpool have already fallen this season. But at the end of the day it's quite simple. Two more wins gets us the title...PaulSG2010-04-28 20:13:26

yea ricardo fulla was causing us a few problems early on but he soon ran out of steam and was isolated up there. ballack was great in the way he ran the midfield
i too was thinking that must be some record, hitting 7 goals 3 times

Will find out how good you are this week.
Stoke's defence just was not there.Perennial strugglers Liverpool will be a different story.

yes i think everyone (both player and fans) is well aware Perennial strugglers Liverpool away will be a tougher game than stoke at home
Yes, I have added the emoticon into my original posting about the "perennial strugglers", just to show the spirit in which it was meant. An oversight on my part but it's just something we're all enjoying this season in blighty.
Anfield will be a tough test but I'm confident we can go there and win. Stoke were poor on Sunday but we were awesome too. Any side would've struggled to live with us on that performance.PaulSG2010-04-28 20:14:39

essien fo sho
your thoughts?
My advice though, for what it's worth, is shop around for the shirt. The megastore always charges a lot more than the UK high street shops such as Sports Direct or JJB. If you can order from them, you'll probably save a few quid, and they do printing.
oh yep do those places do reputable shipping around the world and what not?
when does the away shirt get released or are we using the same as this season?
