Fantastic win that. Wonderful for team morale heading into a tough december. Was pretty worried about this one, could see us tripping up but not to be.

So Anelka and Alex have both had transfer requests accepted. Will both be gone in January i would say. Probably a good enough time for Anelka to leave, he has served us well over the years with a lot of under rated peformances.

Alex, im not so sure about letting him go, Leaves us somewhat short at the back.

Will have to wait and see what happens with this one.

It was a better game as far as the result. was good to get the result we deserved after playing well this season only to lose.

So Alex and Anelka aren't training with the squad, they're having their own separate training sessions. That seems like it could make things awkward around Cobham.

Pretty nervous about the game tomorrow morning. We have this knack of conceding goals in the last 20 minutes so im really hoping the game isn't sitting at 0-0 going into the final 20. If we are going to concede i would prefer it early as i feel we have been ok at times when chasing the game. (we looked ok fighting back at Old Trafford and looked ok when 3-2 down to Arsenal. Though we lost both so...

God i hope we score first. We have been in positions to kill off games in this years UCL and have failed to do so, which later came back to hurt us. Away at Valencia Torres had some wonderful chances to score and we really should have been 3-0 up but ended up drawing. Similar story at Genk, were 1-0 up and missed a penalty. Should have done enough to grab the 3 points.

Anywho.. Heres hoping we put in the peformance tomorrow to get the job done.

Romeu given he start ahead of Lamps. Pretty big call that. He's developing very nicely as a very confident footballer

Absolutely stoked to come on my break to find us 2-0 up. This is exactly what i was hoping we could do, score early and avoid any late drama. Still 20 to go mind you so got to show some composure now and see this one out.

Also, with Genk beating Leverkusen we could very well find ourselves top of the group which would be fantastic.

3-0 DROGBA!!!!

By the sounds of it a lovely goal, once again set up by Mata, sh*t that man can set up a goal

Bloody fantastic!!!! Great result that!

Top of the group too.

These last two 3-0 wins are just what we needed with Man City to come on the weekend.

Very much so, the 3-0 wins over Wolves, Newcastle and Valencia have very much steadied the ship and eased a bit of the tension that was building around Stamford Bridge. Just in time for our big game this weekend.

Absolutely superb player. Gonna be tough for him to get a regular place in the Spain squad, but has the ability. Glorious to watch most of the time.

Almost a Rafa-esque rant from AVB after the match, pretty odd given the circumstances.

Watched the game last night, 3 very well taken goals and a well earnt clean sheet. Drogba looked liked the drogba of old. Held up the ball well, was strong and direct when he needed to be. Romeu looked composed once again in the middle of the park. Pretty poor defending on Ramires' goal, but he did well to create the chance and then take it.

So of the teams we could face in the round of 16 im hoping we can avoid AC Milan and Napoli. Though also think we could beat them both if we play well enough. The Cypriot team would be a nice draw. Downey262011-12-08 10:44:00

Yes, who would have thought Chelsea and Arsenal, with all our "troubles" would be the two teams to win their group whilst the two high flying Manchester clubs missed out altogether.

Really nervous about the game tomorrow. Wouldn't say I'm confident, hopeful though. Trouble is we really need to win it if we are to have any hope in the title race and winning it will be pretty tough.

the worst bit is dodging the match reports and scores until you get home

I just cant not check the score if i know the game is on. I follow updates online when i get a few spare minutes at work. I record the game and watch it when i get home.

Currently 1-1 at halftime.

Holy f**k we beat City!!!

I was so amazingly stoked to come on my break and find that result waiting for me!!

I said that this week would be a big one for us with games vs Newcastle, Valencia and City. So happy we won all 3.

Watched the replay last night. Sturridge was really good, setting up Meireles and winning the penalty. Ramires was good too, his surging runs from midfield are getting better and better.

One report i read yesterday was that our penalty was lucky and there was debate as to whether Lescotts arm was raised and showing intent or whether it hit is arm at all. So i was going home expecting to see some very lucky penalty call win us the match, turns out it was about as blatant as they get.

Looks as though we were a bit lucky not to concede a penalty when Bosingwa took down Silva. There was barely any contract if at all and Silva went down extremely easily and theatrically. But still, i think there was a bit of contact so we have to count ourselves lucky there.

Watched the recorded game last night, what a match! agree we were lucky to have avoided that penalty.
Great to see them back in form. I thought JT played brilliantly, Drogba looking sharp again, Sturridge was good to share the ball intelligently, Mata was fantastic, and Ramires outpacing everyone on the park!
Hoping for another 3 points this weekend v Wigan, and toppling Tottenham next week

Yes we really need to get the 3 points against Wigan this weekend. It's all very well beating City but if we cant back it up against Wigan then it's a waste.

Yes please. I'm also hoping we follow your lead against City and blow the title race WIDE open!

I gotta say i applaud the officiating in that Chavs vs. City fixture, for once a ref who had grown a pair and made some decent solid calls, unlike those reffing Liverpool, Spurs, Stoke fixtures over the weekend. Modric being brought down was a joke, every time Suarez gets brought down is a joke... and im just growing sick and tired of obvious handballs not being given
