every time i see that miss i feel sick to my stomach, not because it would have given us a shot at salvaging a draw but just cos of whats that's gotta do to his confidence. that game was like 1 step forward, 2 steps back for him.

hopefully he can bang a couple in against swansea

Yeah, he took his goal so well too! Lovely finish. Then his touch past de Gea was also really good. And then...

yea i really hope he can look past the miss and to the positives of his performance. he also did really well to set up ramires for his dreadful miss. couple that with his 2 assists against leverkusen and one would say hes actually playing pretty good

see i think thats the last thing he needs, would all but completely shatter his confidence. he played well so i think he should start against swansea.

any word on drogba's return? i cant seem to find much

ok reading up on squad news for the fulham game and seems drogba is now fully recovered. looks as though AVB will play mceachran, bertrand, lukaku and romeu tomorrow. very excited to see how lukaku goes in his first start

well that's annoying. alex goes and gets himself sent off which means that's the end of mceachran's night.

got lucky with that penalty though.

extra time now. we always seem to make these carling cup games tougher than they need to be.

Yeah, extra time will be even tougher with 10 men..

cech will be ok for the next game, sturridge should be ok, may miss 1 game at most

Swansea this weekend, I'm feeling pretty confident about this one. have a bit of a feeling we may have our first really comfortable win, maybe a 3 or 4 nil. Tough their pace up front could be a worry, we haven't looked flash in that department this season.

interesting we are unbeaten in our last 62 games vs newly promoted opposition with 53 wins and 9 draws. pretty impressive.

How're you enjoying Juan? He hasn't shown off the beard yet so my envy hasn't hit the levels it will get to...

good result that. oh torres, why do you do this to me, you score first, lovely goal, the game opens up and looks like it could be your day. then you go do that. my oh my.

ramires you were fantastic, cole too. anelka i liked too, always works real hard .

wow defence on set pieces is back to its shoddy best. geez.

lovely to see drogba get back and score an nice goal.

good result forsure but our defending is not great ....now geting use to playing with 10 men.....Lampard not getting any match time is interesting.....maybe saving him for mid-week, but on last weeks game he maybe lucky to start....but being English may get him in......

disappointing to have torres out for the next 3 epl games, is beginning to look the goods. will give sturridge a chance to start some more games up front though.

I f**king signed him for my fantasy team!! Had a big risk and then that happens...  But Mata is so so good. One of my fave players outside 'Pool in the League tbh.

Yes, Mata is very good. I think he's only going to get better as well

they just lost to nine-man Sevilla at the weekend after a really good start to the season. Soldado had been on fire for the first few games- but seems to have lost his Midas touch for now...

so cant really see how kalou is going to fit into the plans this year. at this stage he is behind drogba, torres, anelka, sturridge and lukaku up front. he can play out wide in a front 3 to reasonably good effect but seems avb prefers anelka and mata in these roles

LAMPARD!!! Great way to answer the critics.

Well, you got a draw! Although that peno at the end looked dodgy...

Disappointing we didn't get the win there, though as i said i would take a draw. Sounds as though we had a fair few decent chances leading up to Lampards goal so a bit gutted we couldn't convert any of those.

I was wondering yesterday how Kalou fits into the team, seems his job is to give away needless late penalties. Will have to wait till i get home to see the game and see if the draw was a fair result.
