You haven't beaten them. There's 90 minutes left.

Three for me, and two for them.

To get a win at home and prevent them getting an away goal is reason enough to be happy. Even if it is still half time.

Some stats:

Possession

Cheslki- 28%

Messi- 72%

Total Shots

Chelski - 5 (1 on target, 4 off target, 1 blocked)

Messi - 24 (6 on target, 13 off target, 5 blocked)

Though they're just stats, I think Chelsea might get a right dicking at Camp Nou, would love an upset, but my god. Azevo2012-04-19 08:54:28

Plastics coming out the woodwork already.

Three for me, and two for them.

Speaking of plastics, a gem i found on twitter:

Chelsea FC: Plastic club - Check. Plastic fans - Check. Plastic flags - Check. Plastic head - Cech

Three for me, and two for them.

Barkers completed 782 passess, Chelski only 194.

Just an odd, odd match.Azevo2012-04-19 08:59:12

Heres another nice one.. "6 of Barcelonas last 9 defeats in Europe have been against English sides."

Guess thats just including single matchesrather than two-leg matches.Azevo2012-04-19 09:17:33

Well done Chelsea.

I hope they destroy you at the Nou Camp. That's all. Won't go into the sportsmanship of Drogba and Terry. But lets just say if it was Busquets we know what the reaction would be.

Embarassing scenes from the section of your fans at the Hillsborough minute's silence too (obviously a minority of dickheads, not the lot of you). And, just a question, why did Terry and Lampard not wear black armbands? Just curious, as I'm sure there's a good reason.

Lastly, what do you honestly think of the plastic flags they bring out of the end, Downey? Do you cringe or just not bothered?

Fair play though, good result. Its almost a given that you'll have less possession than Barca, so whatever works to get a result.

Ironic coming from a Suarez fan. Possibly the most unsportsmanlike of all professional footballers on the planet today.

Well tbh i'm not to bothered by it. Plenty more things to worry about first. The average attendance at the Bridge for the 5 seasons leading up to the Roman take over was 34k, 34k, 34k, 38k and 39k. It's been at 41k since. It does bother me a little when people say all Chelsea fans are plastic as there were clearly already increasing crowd numbers before the take over. Yes, there are no doubt many who have started supporting Chelsea since Roman and may indeed lose interest if things head downhill but any true blue fan will be so for life.

Hmm, didn't really answer your question, just kind of rambled on. No, I don't really care about the flags too much.

Yeah we lead against them at half time last year too. Didn't matter in the end.

Three for me, and two for them.

Seriously, what have the flags got to do with anything anyway? The club leaves one on each seat for free. Has done it, ever since Roman arrived, for certain Champions League games. Other clubs have done it previously too - it's not unique to us. Either way, it doesn't detract from a solid defensive showing last night. Was never going to be pretty but we had a job to do and we did it. Now for the "second half"...

+1.

I haven't managed to see Drogba's antics but if they were Suarezesque then it's poor form.

Pretty sure that Drogba didn't bite anybody.

Defoe bit a player, so what's your point?

And yes, it was 'suarez-esque', or 'busquets-esque' or whatever you want to call it. its embarassing. Suarez does it and I don't care. So I'm a hypocrite.

How about Terry grabbing Puyol's injured arm? Or was that just the British lion spirit...

My point was that, in order to qualify as Suarez-esque, Drogba would have to put his choppers to work.   And in fairness to Defoe, he went for the shoulder, not the jugular.  I think that's an important difference.

To be honest, Drogba's diving and rolling around the pitch has been a bugbear of all Blues since he joined the club. There was a period, early on, when he used to get jeered for it at the Bridge. The legend that is Kerry Dixon also went on Chelsea TV to criticize him for it.

It is annoying and he doesn't need to do it. He's a big bloke with a lot of strength. Plus, I can't stand diving in football of any description, unless it's by a 'keeper. But for all Drogba's faults, he's served our club well and did a fantastic job in difficult circumstances on Tuesday night.PaulSG2012-04-21 00:33:43

Pretty huge game tonight, as they all are at the moment. Drogba out, though I'm not sure whether he would have started. Ivanovic still banned, Luiz injured. Cahill at the back with Terry.

Confidence must be high but all these big games of late maybe taking their toll physically and mentally.

Haven't got a great feeling about tonight for some reason but can't wait for it. Really stoked its the early game too.

almost 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
I think you're right about Drogba, Downey. I don't think RDM would've started with him if he had been fit. Still would've been a nice option to have on the bench though.

Thought we did OK. Defended well, played well in the middle of the park but the attacking third was too slow and the service to Torres was poor at best. I don't blame him for being frustrated today. I really do not rate Kalou - opposition know what he's going to do before he does. As for Sturridge, he was poor today.

It's a point but, with Newcastle winning 2-0 as I write this, it's not much good to us. The game against them at the Bridge could be a huge for us.

Your right PaulSG, our attacking was just poor. Kalou seems to get the ball in really good positions but seems to always make the wrong decision, or no decision at all. Sturridge had an off day, i think hes the type of player whos going to benefit from extended spell in the first team as he had at the beginning of the season.

Been very impressed with Bertrand. Has done an excellent job filling in at left back for Cole. Not sure what that means for Van Aanholt, i imagine he may move on permanently in the summer.

Couldn't agree more on Bertrand. He's been fantastic when he's been given the opportunity. Thought he was our best player against Arsenal. Looks solid, not afraid to get stuck in and he seems to get forward well too. Looks a good all-rounder.

As for Van Aanholt, he looked to be ahead of Bertrand in the pecking order under Ancelotti, but his loan at Wigan was "mutually" cut short and he's not made great waves in Holland with Vitesse either. I think his days at the Bridge may be numbered. If a third left-back is ever required, Ferreira, Bosingwa and Luiz can all play that role.

We f**king did it!!!

f**k me that was intense. To come back from 2-0 down and a man down. Top effort. I'm so bloody stoked right now!

What a lovely goal from Rami! Drogba was intense. The whole team did the job that needed to be done (JT aside).

Was fantastic to see Torres get the goal at the end.
