Pretty happy with Liverpool's draw. Wanted either Porto or Villarreal, but avoiding Barcelona, Man U and  Bayern was good. Worst two teams, in terms of performance in this years CL, Gooners Villarreal, paired up.

Alex should be happy after getting some back on Jose, now come knock out his old old team and gets an easy draw.

Someone needs to check their UEFA co-efficients

FWIW, the worst two teams of the eight remaining according to strictly this season are Villareal (7th) and Porto (8th).

Taking the last 5 season into account, which is the accepted practice, we see Arsenal are fourth of those remaining:

Geez defensive, if you read what I said "this season in the Champions League". Yes Porto is  a worse team but this season their performance in the Champions League has been slightly better. Anyway Arsenal have been one of the three worst atleast, and again this is in terms of CL performance so far.

Boy's we've been sh*t during CL, we got through in penalties and havn't been able to score in a brothol, Lind's statement is justified. However we're getting some key players back which will be to our benefit

Did anyone else go "f**king hell, not again" when Chelsea v Liverpool came out?  It would easier to toss a coin and save everyone all that angst.

Yes. But only because it means two unbelievably dour, uninspired football games.

Liverpool versus Chelsea, Man U, Real Madrid, Newcastle, Man City, Portsmouth this season, now that is inspiring football, if you can't be inspired by that then I don't know what else to say.

Most of this boring football stuff is just a media beat up, if Liverpool win 1-0 then it's "Liverpool scrape victory" or "Lucky Liverpool edge past". When Man U win 1-0 "Invincible Man U" "Another strong win".

Different rep apply's to Arsenal "Young guns....." followed by either too young or "show's ability not age is key" and the opposite for AC Milan.

Sure there's some truth to it, but lazy journo's just repeat and copy same stuff.

My comments were based on my own observations of Liverpool v Chelsea CL encounters of the past few seasons.

Most boring stuff imaginable.

Premiership is a bit different, both sides approach the domestic games with much more adventure.

Yep, don't think I'll be getting up for that one (two).

I agree that the majority of the Liverpool v Chelsea CL games have been complete cack, although last years 2nd leg was as inspiring and aborbing as they come.  My big whinge is that at this stage of the competition you want to be playing the fancy Euro opposition not a team from your own country.  With four English teams in the quarters I know it was inevitable - but oh how I yearn for Chelsea to pit their wits against Europe's best rather than England's second best.  Barcelona, Bayen, even Villareal would have been nice.

Fair comment, I too would have felt slightly aggrieved had Arsenal drawn an English team.

ESPN have update dthier listings.
Wendesay 8th
Live Manc vs Porto
Delayed Villareal vs Arsenal
Thursday 9th
Live Barcelona Vs Bayen
Delayed Liverpool vs Chelsea

I have been testing a setup at work where we have the live game on espn in the back bar  (@the backbencher)as usuall and have a laptop and projector/screen set up with the other game also live in the resaurant (so the sound doesnt clash)- cant guarantee quality as it will be streamed, but we have very good broadbanad available so it should be fine.

At least we dont have to play on the Hillsoborough anniversary. Haha, whether the quality is good or not, its such a tense tie if you're involved! For the neutral, I can understand why you wouldn't be lining up to see it, for sure.

I'm looking forward to the Chelsea clash. Would have preferred either Barca or Bayern first up but should be a good couple of games with the ol' foe.
Hopefully Porto can put up a good fight against ManU, we can only hope...

Really interesting first legs I reckon. Second semi seems almost certain to be Barca v Chelsea, first semi less certain. Arsenal should progress, Manre/Porto too close to call I reckon.

The Arsenal-Barca rematch could still be on the cards.

4-0 to Barca, they're through. 3-1 to Chelski, they're through, Gooners to win 2-1 at home and United to draw 1-1 in Porto
