 Man City V Newcastle 1976

One thing I like back in this final were the kits of both clubs, traditional and very cool! Today, if Macdonald had gone down like that, he'd be writhering around like he was mortally wounded.

An underdog wins.

Partick Thistle 4 Celtic 1.   23rd October 1971.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

"Being a Partick Thistle fan sets you apart. It means youre a free thinker. It also means your team has no money." Tim Luckhurst, The Independent, 4th December 2003

That was a cool game and great goals. The kits looked cool and the atmosphere was brilliant. No cemmercialism as such.

Probably the best winner of a major trophy at Wembley, certainly during the TV years anyhow. Better than Ricky Villa's for Spurs vs Man City in the FA Cup, even.
Forest 3 Saints 2 in 1979 was some game.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Wasn't the 66 Everton v Wednesday final in the FA cup? Or am I wrong?

I enjoyed the one where Swindon beat Arsenal in the mud - 68 ish.

Swindon were in the 1969 League Cup final. The Sheff game was the 1966 FA Cup Final.

Meh, I couldn't think of any decent league cup finals, so I went with an FA one.

Also I didn't read the thread title properly.
