i know we are playing france (away) on 26/3

but this quote from cappello has got me wondering

"I have five friendlies before the qualifying campaign starts and by then I need to know who I want to play."

checked the fixtures on soccernet and the fa website  - they only have the French match showing

any ideas who the matches are against ?? (I'm guessing they'll be in the close-season against sides not in Euro 2008)

I dont know when the quote is from, but could one of them have been the match just finished against Switzerland?

yeah, I'm not sure if that is included, still leaves 3 'mystery' matches

i guess all will be revealed in the FA's own good time

thats basically all the international fixtures up untill the early part of the 2008-2009 season, alot of thsoe firendlys havent been scheduled yet, but im sure england are playing germany in germany for one of them.

Australia in May/June
USA in June
Trinidad and Tobago in June

so those will be your 3 mysteries

the only one that has been announced by the fa so far is France v England at Stade de France

agree Frstdskr not stunning opposition - sadly a lot of the good teams will be doing something else this european summer

Aus might still fancy themselves for another win, but i do think/hope/dream that Cappello might be Mr fixit!!

I'd love to know what its like at Capello's training sessions considering his English isn't all that flash. 

im a bit conflicted here. i would love for australia to win.

Aren't the USA ranked higher than england in the world? How is that not decent opposition?

England are ranked 12th, USA 20th.

the only reason usa are raked as high as 20th is due to them playing teams like panama, haiti, cayman islands and the like in the concacaf.

You're right Paul, matches against better opposition are worth more points.

I think Arsene said it himself that the US will win a World Cup before England does again. The US are a side on the rise, England are a side on the decline.
