Been a Villa fan since about 1969/1970 when I was around 5 or 6 years old.  I've also indoctrinated all three of my kids and they're mad Villa fans as well now.  (Sadly the wife's a Man Utd. fan, but there's no accounting for taste is there?)

At least I've seen some success in my time as a Villa fan, although the past few years under Doug Ellis have been somewhat lacking in the success stakes.  However, with the new owner Randy Lerner, more money and Martin O'Neill in charge, I am very optimistic that we can have more success in the coming years.  I think we're still some way off challenging for the Premiership and Champions League, but I believe that top six and UEFA Cup (maybe even Champs League) qualification will be possible in the next three years.

VILLA VILLA VILLA VILLA!

Glad to see a Villian here, cant wait till we play the Brum scum if they get promoted !

Cant wait till we play European football again and also win an FA cup or a Carling Cup!

COME ON VILLA!!!
Yeah - nice to see another Villa fan on here.  I hope there will be a few more that come out of the woodwork!  I always get nervous when we play the Bluenoses - the feeling of elation is fantastic when we win, but it's the lowest feeling in the world when we lose.  Added to that, I've a couple of Bluenose mates - one here in Wellington and the other in Brisbane and boy, will they give me sh*t if they even manage a draw against us next season!

Having said that, as I stated in my previous post, I am very optimistic for the future.  We have the right manager and the right owner now.  Everything is set for us to move things onwards and upwards.  Like you, I'm REALLY looking forward to some silverware - it's been a LONG time (11 years) since the last trophy (I've blanked out the F.A. Cup loss in 2000!)  We should set our sights higher than just beating and finishing above the Bluenoses - let them worry about us instead!

BTW - have you seen the new badge/crest?  What do you think?  I think it's a bit of a missed opportunity, but I don't hate it as much as some of the posters on the heroesandvillains.info forum.  Let's see what it looks like on the new Nike shirt next season...

Spurs fan primarily. Inherited this pain from my Father, who grew up in London. Made the pilgrimage to the lane a few years back only to watch us go down 4-0 to Chelsea (pre Abramovic days too).

Other team I support is VfB Stuttgart. Saw them play at Gottlieb Daimler Stadion in 1996. Best ever sporting event I've been to. Will never forget it.

I loojk for Macclesfield's results for two reasons;
1) Ince is in charge there and I've alwys loved his whole-heareted approach to the game.
2) Ian Curtis is buried there (I went there just to see his gravestone).

Yeah i really do think we need to lift our game but i have a feeling that we aer having a clean out of players in the next season and also they're thinking of making the stadium bigger so that should be good to have more voices behind the boys.

We do need to win some silverwear and i dont care if its UEFA cup or champions league to the Carling cup to a Midlands cup, we just need one to get the ball rolling and more interest in our team. I think we need to be in the top 8 of the EPL ladder next season to have a good future at the least.

Yeah i dont mind the new badge tooooo much, they could have made a better one but its too late now, i still rather the shield one with the stripes and the lion in the middle. I'm very excited to see how our top made by nike looks, so im saving up my pennies to get one.

I remember that final, I was about 13 when it was played. Millwall gave us quite a fight and if it wasn't for our goalie (David Seaman who I think was about 38 at the time) making a brilliant save near the end it could have ended up a lot different. It was quite an achievement for Millwall to get so far in the FA Cup when I think they were in div 1 (I could be wrong though). I'm happy that Arsenal won though.

Yes I can see the connection between a dead body and Macclesfield. And that's just Ince.

I can say I /dodid. Lived in Devon for a while and went to their FA Cup tie vs Wolves way back when in the late 70's. Helluva game.

Sorry it's taken ages to reply but been to Wemberly. Short story is we lost.
But I was at that game against Wolves. Must have been about 15. Can't for the life of me remember the score.

I'm a Wolves supporter for my sins, all my life.

I'm going to buy a Phoenix season ticket  to support footy locally and hopefully watch the Aussies lose a few, always a joyful occasion.

Lets hope they do well, and get the benign egg chucking stories out of the red neck media.

Im a Arsenal fan. When i started following football I only payed attention to teams with Dutch stars. (Go the Oranje) and when both Overmars and Bergkamp where playing for Arsenal I got hooked. Overmars left but i stayed a loyal Gunners fan ever since. I also supported Old Boys AFC in Invercargill when i was growing up. My brother was a Goalie there when i started playing as a six year old.

Liverpool

me old man was a liverpool supporter during their glory years, and that kinda filtered through to me somehow. although I never supported the club cos of him, I didn't even know he was a fan until it came up in conversation!

kept a casual eye on any news when I was young growing up in the mid 90s. The first real game I watched live was the epic FA cup final in 2001 versus arsenal and have been watching closely ever since.

Go the kop!

I've supported Liverpool since the 70's back in the glory days of Dalgleish, Souness, Hansen,  Thompson, Clemence, Toshack, Hughes etc and of course King Kenny.

My dad was born in Blackburn and my mum in Glasgow but back then you only got First Division footy on TV so, except for the results on the radio on Sunday am, it was impossible to follow a team outside the top league and every kid, even the kids that played rugby, had a favorite english team so it was the Pool for me.

Even then it was hard to follow your team, didn't get to see any of the great European games but I do remember the league titles, FA cups, the feeling of devastation when Arsenal scored the 2nd goal in 1989, Heysel, sitting stunned by the tragedy of Hillsborough and suffering through the 90's.

I've made the pilgrimage to Anfield and seen them play live (although not at home) seeing them beat Ipswich Town 6-0 at Portman Road (sorry HN).

The mighty Heart of Midlothian FC, started watching them in 82...they were less than mighty back then, however the auld man made sure I was a jambo....virtually nothing but pain & disappointment since, but the 2 cup wins have made all the years worthwhile!

Still have a season tckt, have renewed it for next season even though I leave for Wellington in October.

I live in Wales at the moment, so it's a hell of a commute every 2nd weekend Moving to Wellington in October, so will need the phoenix to keep me sane in a land of egg-chasers!

Been a Partick Thistle supporter since I was 10 years old. I was born and bred in Glasgow and moved to NZ in 1998. My old man (a Celtic fan) took me to the League Cup Final in 1971 when Thistle beat Celtic 4 -1 and I've been a fan ever since. Jambo in exile, if you think you've suffered nothing but pain & disappointment, you wanna try supporting Partick Thistle
