southampton vs portsmouth should be a good derby game

should be interesting from here
only one of the 'big four' left. Some real opportunity for a pompey-esque performance.
I've watched the arsenal games online, and the westham and stoke matches certainly had heaps of passion and drama. It was great stuff.
personally i'd love fulham to take it out! they've done so well over the last couple of seasons, would be great to see some silverware head to the cottage!

alot of people seem to have the "oh well it doesnt matter" , "meh" , "now we can focus on the league" mentality when their team is knocked out of the cup
am i the only one who enjoys a good cup run these days and is dissapointed when my team is knocked out?

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

enjoyed the Tigers cup run last year - bit of a novelty for us!
was a bit disappointed to lose at Wigan in 3rd round but we are so caught in the the survival battle that it might truly be for the best

I think teams outside of the top four also see it as a ticket into Europe as well, which the top 7 league teams dont have to play for. A cup win puts you into the Europa league regardless of where you finish on the table.
I think the reason so many people are "Meh" about the FA cup is there isnt any coverage here in NZ. no build up to the matchs, nothing. Which is a shame as the Southcoast Derby should be a cracker.

Chelsea would have to be the jammiest team in terms of getting a favourable draw for the last 2 years.
2009
3rd Round - Southend
4th Round - Ipswich
5th Round - Watford
QF - Coventry
SF - Arsenal
Final - Everton
2010 so far
3rd Round - Watford
4th Round - Preston
5th Round - Cardiff
Obviously the draw is random so nothing against Chelsea before you all jump up and down but pretty lucky to avoid another Premiership team until the semi finals and still none so far this year.

yea we have been pretty lucky in our draw but i aint complaining

Yep, that Arsenal semi-final last season was a piece of piss

I'd like to see a Notts county V Southampton final!!

Palace knocked out Wolves in a replay this morning, 3-1.
"Danny Butterfield, whose nominal position is as a full-back and who had scored once in 6-and-a-half years, netted a second-half hat-trick in just 6 minutes"
Bloody hell!
Notts County also accounted for Wigan.

I love how almost every fan on this forum gets knocked out of the cup and makes this comment. I've made it too...guilty as...
Sometimes it make you wonder are there some managers out there who don;'t actually want to win trophies (ie would rather finish 3rd or 4th in the league than win a cup).
Money speaks i guess, but it's sad times when the prospect of winning a cup means nothing...

That would be slightly disappointing..
IS THE GAME BEEN SHOWN ON TV?

I'm 99.9% sure the answer to that is "no"
Sky aren't even showing Syd v Melb live
preferring instead to use 32 for the same coverage of winter olympics as they have at the same time on an olympic channel
