If we all ring/email SKY, I reckon they might show the semis (i'm not even sure that the final will have been scheduled live)

especially if other football league fans like LG, Opre, WillyB, The Jam, Zephyr, DKP, SiNZ, Skaman, Upsidedown blue, HN join in with the quest for more coverage

and prem league fans -please join the action - get a sneak preview of the new Derby credible oppostion

even if you don't have SKY please (begins to grovel, beg, whine - in a tigerish fashion of course ) hassle them for us

contacts = (cheers LG -for pointing out the samll gap in my cunning plan )

they seem to wish their emails to come through this webpage

E-mail address? We could threaten to spam them! or get them spammed by lots of porn sites!

Of course they wont show any of them. They'd rather show Wellington V Manawatu 1985 NPC.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The play-off final has been on SKY (live with replays) at least since Norwich won promotion a few years back (before they went straight back down). So I think it's a safe bet that it'll be on again this year.

Wouldn't hold my breath for the semis though.

I reckon we should just try asking LG - with a few of us doing it first . (spamming threats seem a little counter-productive)

Who broadcasts the Championship in the UK?. Sky purchase their football in a package at the start of the season from the premier league itself and doesn't have to much input into what games they get each week. (I think the promotion final is included in that package but not the semis)Picking up a contract to broadcast games at short notice might be a tough ask.
(this theory comes from years of harassing sky about football coverage)

cheers for giving us the context UberGunner, I'm still going to hassle them - even if only to increase the chances of a better deal for football fans when the contract is renegotiated for next season (hopefully that will turn out to be pure altruism, as the Tigers will already be up in the Prem!)

I have discussed a championship highlights package that they can add to thier monday nights line up when world of football comes back for the phoenix season, and they "took that on board" but said they would have to source it from somewhere that wasnt selling the entire seasons coverage to go with it.

it looks like itv or bbc may have something- that depends on getting an international broadcast release from sky uk.

Pretty sure Setanta show a bit.

Tigers... continuing from the other thread...

Be some change in the off season, we'll need a couple of Centre Backs and three of our aged corps. have gone.  We also need a keeper, both the ones we have are on loan as we sold two and sent one out on loan during the season.

Good luck in the playoffs, can't say I'd want any of the other three to win it, they all play pretty objectionable football.  I do suspect whoever does is a candidate for having a lash at Derby's record.

UG - i'm pretty sure SKY UK have the semis live - but maybe its' all too late to get anything edit - and i really knowe nmothing about this whole disribution thing -as you can probably tell,

I've emailed - and will phone when i get their reply - and i don't expect to be phoning to say 'thanks' - but would love to be proved wrong

HN - the report on citymad suggested that your ground was in such good nick that playing away on some of the more crap grounds had proved a problem, also a great quote- something like - "Kuqi proved a threat until he ran out of steam, in about the 4th minute"

good luck with the off-season recruiting

Perhaps you can sign Leon Cort off Palace before the play-off final and make the transfer immediate

cheers for the positve (well, "least of 4 evils" ) vibe

i expect we'll make the final, then hey a one-off at wembley -= 'lottery'

re the ghost of derby County - yep it's a risk but one I'm prepared to take, i think duffen will raise some dosh if we go up, and i don't want to wait another 104 years just because we might look daft if we do play with the big lads

i quite fancy us palying at White hart lane (they haven't  changesd the name yet have they- it's been so long since i first had this idea ),

years ago Venables and Hunter Daives wrote a bok about future football and hull city were one of the top teams in the land (crap book but great idea!) - since then i've always fancied us going there and getting 3  points (woulda been 2 when the book came out)

and more chance of a win there than at OT - eh Harrry??

when  west ham were in the play-offs a few years ago, all the games were on sentanta, which only the black harp in Wellington has.  Speak to Dermott down there, as he was first class about getting the games on (including the first leg of west Ham vs Ipswich which we got to watch in the corner while a singles party was on in the rest of the bar).

cheers Frankie, the home leg might be a problem -not sure my wife would approve of me taking our 5 year old to the pub instead of school in her 2nd week there  - Ed

I still get the shakes whenever I see Bobby Zamora.
32 years as a Town supporter, three relegations, six failed play-off attempts, three seperate trips to England to see them play; a lifetime of misery, frustration, lost opportunities & having to watch all our homegrown talent flogged off on the cheap - AND YET THE DAY OF THAT SECOND LEG RANKS AS THE WORST OF ANY I HAVE ENDURED AS A TOWN FAN.
I was actually sent home from work that day - for a combination of being cliniically depressed and threatening violence to anybody who ventured near me.
I think it grated so much because we spent most of that season in the top two before losing in the play-offs to a team that we finished FIFTEEN points ahead of.
God, I won't be able to sleep tonight now.

Dermot is now at D4, so im not sure who to ask at the harp about the setanta stuff. They havent used it much except for some curling and the gaelic football latley.
