No thanks, if they happen to agree and set one up then they'll make us pay extra for it, then they won't actually give us much more in the way of football to watch, they'll just fill up the time with old games, documentaries and interviews with has beens.
 
After all that's what they did with the rugby channel.

Unfortunately my mummy and daddy don't pay for my Sky subscription like yours do Celtic.

You'll never see Celtic games as they have their own TV station. We should be getting the same "live" championship matches that they get in the UK. Instead we get three sport channels of old golf or rugby when there's a live championship game on. Also when is ESPN gonna get some decent camera quality at their games? They always seem fuzzy as if you're watching it through a mist.

My wife's uncle who is some sort of boffin at TVNZ tried to explain this to me once. It's not their cameras, what he said was that it's something to do with their pictures being bounced via satellite to the USA before being re-bounced by satellite to somewhere else, which affects the quality of the pictures. It's, apparently, something along those lines. Could have been winding me up!
 
Doesn't make it any less annoying to watch though!

on a side note, yeah i dont see why they dont show the championship here - they have it on tv in aussie in a very similar format to the way the premier league is shown, just not quite as many live games shown - but you can still see the goals and results etc in the highlights show.
 
also yes totally agreed espn is crap! (methinks its due to being a usa based channel and its an attempt to make it look more 'hollywood' with the funny filter over the screen - and the commentatores are terrible, combine that with how they turn down the background noise from the crowd makes a very dull experience when watching normally very exciting champions league football!)
