Of course cameras are not allowed in the court room. So we will have to make do with this artist's sketch instead.

@stephencgrant: Nothing grounds your sense of personal achievement like knowing you'll never have more in your bank account than Harry Redknapp's dog.

My god.  The things he said:

"I write like a two-year-old," he told police. "I can't spell."

"I am completely and utterly disorganised. I am not going to fiddle taxes. I pay my accountant a fortune to look after me."

"I didn't even know what bank it was I walked into, and neither did my wife."

Is it April already?

More gems from 'Arry:

"Mr Manley, will you please stop staring at me. I know you are trying to cause me a problem, okay."

"You think I put my hand on the bible and told lies? That's an insult, Mr Black, that's an insult,"

after the Banker got stripped of his Knighthood I thought it might blow some heat out of the story but brown bagger just digs deeper

I had shares in a shovel company too, but I gave them all away to a friend in need, because my accountant, the best there is, told me too.

he has to get jail time how much on sharing a cell with JT? Captain and Coach devise ways to escape.
not from relegation however.

Is anyone following this quite closely? Care to give a quick brief?

I don't quite get it. So is it absolute fact that Mandaric paid hundreds of thousands into an offshore account owned by Harry, and that no tax was paid on that?

If yes, what is his defence exactly? All I see is him basically saying 'i didnt think i had to pay tax, i thought mandaric already did it' - is that right?

also that the prosecution used a journalist's article to contribute to their case.

jury was in for 4 hours before retiring
Judge said unanimous only please

there is no way he can walk but historically white people with money don't get locked up.

I think Bernie Madoff would tend to disagree.

Option A (preferred): No and No

Option B (quite likely): Yes and Yes

Actually - I think 'Arry would be 'triffic for Eng-gur-lund and most Spurs fans were expecting him to finish up at WHL and move on to the job.

Just not until the end of the season.

The Euro's at the end of the season puts a spanner in those plans. Capello should have stayed till then, whoever takes over is on a hiding to nothing but now at least they have a pre-made scapegoat now.  Ryan's Rovers2012-02-09 12:41:18

Uh huh?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

yes, it is a curse being right about everything, ever.

I suppose I should be surprised at the verdict but fear my cynicism is now so far engrained that I cannot even muster another bout of self-righteous anger and steam blowing.

Instead I shall cook this pasta
