There has to be more to this, maybe he was going for the Leeds job? But if that's the case they may have done themselves out of compensation?
Mind you the Terriers Fans seem quite pleased with the decision

Just reading a few post on the fans forum and most of them felt it was the right time for him to go. He's described as tactically naive and plays some pretty boring football despite the success he's bought to the club.
They reckon he should be pushing for promotion to the championship and dropping to 4th place is just not on.
I know they have a nice stadium and have a good following but I reckon most teams in league one would take fourth spot any day.
Deluded fans? Any Terriers fans out there?
