inspired by Oprewise and Willie B's duet (with backing vocals from Zephyr) on the Col U topic

I figure it's time for a Hull City topic

(no doubt it'll be Toffeeman and me mainly - but hopefully we'll lure a few Tigers fans out of the woodwork!)

Good away draw with fourth placed Stoke last night. (still just a point off the playoffs!! - if we can get our goal diff sorted)

Cort scored against us and 'Pies' Parkin got a 'run'.

good news is that Frazier Campbell's loan is to continue until end of season

Yeah, it was a great result. I hope we make the play off's but Im not sure we're ready for Premier League just yet. Maybe the year after with a few new faces onboard. I'd hate to go up and do a Derby and be all but relegated by Christmas.

Its no longer a problem.

LOL! I saw your name in the forum menu next to "English football" and assumed you would be talking Blues, so clicked the tab next to your name...imagine my confusion to read you talking about 'play-offs' and 'good enough for the PL'...

agreed Toffeeman, we are a long way off having a squad that could survive in the Prem, I'm just enjoying the feeling of saying the words "play offs for the premier league" and realising that I'm not drunk or dreaming

I also couldn't handle The Toffees and City in the Prem League

Its no longer a problem.

I can think of a simple solution , but i expect it would lead to a rift between the two stalwarts of the Hull City thread - so i'll keep my mouth shut

From SportingLife.com

"Hull City have accepted an offer from Blackpool for Stephen McPhee, although the deal will only go through if Fraizer Campell agrees to stay at the KC Stadium."

I'd rather have Campell that McPhee

Its no longer a problem.

agree TM,

Campbell has done really well for us and also a sign that the club is looking to strengthen the squad (either by attemtping to buy Campbell at the end of the season - not probable imo - or by replacing McPhee/Campbell at the end of the season)

I think i read somewhere we'll pick up 250 K for Mc Phee

Rumour is also that Bridges is heading back to City from Sydney.

Its no longer a problem.

if so, we should just keep him moving in my opinion

What do you go guys think about Frazier Campbell, good enough to forge out a career for himself at Man Utd?
Permalink Permalink
over 18 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
hard to say from this distance WillieB, but he's certainly looked class in the championship context via a few Youtube snippets and from comments on the city forum

the thing in Hull's favour in terms of trying to sign him next season is that Man U don't seem committed to bringing players through (then again, with their transfer funds it's hardly essential)

my guess is that whilst he might be Prem standard in due course it might not be at Old Trafford

I'm worried about United not bringing anyone through the youth system. In this regard we've gone from one of the best to one of the worst. I don't think we've had anyone come in and actually be a first pick player (Wes Brown is not first pick) since early 90's. Plenty of squad players but nobody world class or close to it.

But this is a Hull City thread so the last thing you want is going ons about Man Utd!

given that you and Kiwipie (by accident) are the only ones who've stopped this topic being just Toffeeman and me talking to each other then I'm not too worried

Great result this morning, 1-0 over Coventry. Forlan in the 90th :-) Only 3 points off a play off but we have a game in hand against Colchester who are bottom.

Its no longer a problem.

Tigers versus ColU today. Please Tigers let us win! We needs the points more than you! Tigers not ready for playoffs promotion this year. Trust me its best to finish 9th or 10th (good season but safe). Then next year you can go for promotion.

So three little points for ColU today pleeeeease!

very persuasive, if only it were in my power

actually there's no way i'd take points off city, but i'd certainly grant your lot enough wins to avoid relegation

having spent the last two seasons down in that neck of the woods you have my sympathy, but i think you'll stay up , you've a game in hand (albeit against us!) and Scunny just lost despite being 2-0 up at Stoke

perhaps your lot can gain a bit of consistency after this weekend, you've certainly hurt a few good teams eg Charlton at their place

thanks for your idea of finishing 10th, but after what it did for you following last season -I'll pass

have a good un

1-1 So honours even. We will take that as if we draw away and win at home we will get to safety soon.

I'm obviously disappointed  - thats 3 games without a win for us - not play-offs form

your form of 4 undefeated isn't relegation form, looks like you've turned the corner

I'm pissed off we didn't win but that's life as a football fan sometimes

----

Frazier Campbell scored for city

just read too that Hughes had an op last week - not sure what for
