Unfortunately, they don't have the pre-1908 Bradford kits - so you win by default. However, I'm not sure it counts as "long" before them.

After someone on the Brighton list "demanded a recount" due to perceived inaccuracies in the Classic Kits depictions, I saw LG quoting another site that appears more detailed and more accurate.

According to Historical Kits, Bradford have been in stripes longer than Hull.

Unlike my fellow Tigers supporters on the Hull City Message Boards, who are all waxing lyrical about our new signings, I remain unconvinced that we are to spend next season anywhere other than in the "Cellar-Dweller" region of the English Premier League.
Fraizer Campbell is an unknown quantity at this level and remains in suspended animation with nobody having the faintest clue as to where he will be next season.
Caleb Folan has failed in his efforts to get his left leg moving in the general direction of his right leg when he has the ball.
Trialling the likes of Ryan France (a great trier but way out of his depth at this level) gives me no confidence in the 'methods of madness' currently employed by our training staff.
A compilation which appears to be heavily reliant on Deano and Nicky has to be questioned.
Boateng is proven at this level but Giovanni, Halmosi and the others leave a lot to be desired.
Can the living-legend, miracle-working, potato-headed, snail-paced, overweight, geriatric old has-been lead the charge in the Premier League? I very much doubt it.
We face the truth on 16th August and I fear that there is nothing in this team that will cause any other Premier League team to quake in their boots when they face us.
Fulham would have to be licking their lips at the moment.

I had high hopes after the promotion but after removing the black and amber tinted glasses I see things in their true light.
We can offer a mere three and fourpence plus a free bus pass in wages by comparison to other Premier League Clubs.
Paul Duffen and his consortium had a three year plan which has come to fruition 2 years early. It appears that they have taken us as far as they can.
Established quality Premier League players are falling about laughing at Hull City's offers.
Stoke City, by comparison, are spending money like it is going out of style and have just secured the services of EPL journeyman goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.
Fulham and West Ham have billionaire owners whilst we have a consortium who put up 10 million quid for a Club that rents a small 25,000 capacity stadium.
We are doomed I tell you!

The facts are not to be ignored mate. Sure, I know that during a game everything that could go right for us will go right and everything that could go wrong for our opponents will go wrong and we will win games that we could expect to lose. However, we have got to ask for this to happen no less than 13 TIMES just to survive. This is far too big an ask!
We have signed nobody of note.
We are unable to sign anybody of note.
We couldn't pay their wages.
They wouldn't come anyway.
A new billionaire has offered to buy Newcastle United. How does this compare to Paul Duffens purchase of Hull City, a Club with a stadium (not owned by the Club but rented from the Council and run by outside administrators) with a maximum capacity of 25,000, for 10 million quid!

There's a lot of merit in this point (did I really just say that, i'll never bloody hear the end of it now)

Take the extra millions on offer for being in the EPL, don't spend them on players who are gonna want to walk if (I'm trying to be gracious here) you go down and stick to the 3 year plan. The value of the experience gained by the whole organisation of a year in the EPL will be immense when you come back up.

Shame ITFC didn't think about that last time they were up, eh News

admittedly OzT, we can't get any big names

but i think Geovanni, Boateng and Gardner (if he stays injury free) will do well for us

Mendy's debut was fairly tragic, but hopefully he'll not repeat that kind of effort

it does appear that we are buying with one eye on coming back up again

but in terms of  facts OzT all we really have infront of us is the fact that most of our squad don't have prem experience and that about half of the 6 or so that do are past their prime

I'm not giving up yet

There's still a long way to go till the start of the season and the players you have signed all are experienced and most have premier league experience too, without being over the hill (Barmby can fill that roll for you  - just joking!) While not knowing your pre-season results (from all the doom and gloom round here it doesn't sound too promising) I think you're in alot better position than that lowest common denominator that is 2007/08 Derby. I'd look at bringing in some young guns from some of the bigger teams, with alot to prove to their host clubs (therefore hopefully giving them a bit of motivation in playing for you), Darron Gibson at Man Utd is supposed to be a pretty good young midfielder, apparently had a grievance and personal issues that affected him a bit on loan at Wolves last season but hey might be worth a look at?

and we are also rumoured to be after Ariza Makukula from Benfica

he's a 27 year old Portuguese international striker 12 caps born in the Congo, big lad apparently
(hopefully, he's  a bit special and we get him - the fact that he was out on loan last season suggests he might not be the next Eusebio, but you never know )

Tigers fans...remember that the season ahead brings world class football into your stadium to play your team (regardless of results). Support your team like Birmingham, Sunderland and Portsmouth fans and enjoy!!  What will be will be.

ColU enjoyed their elevated status for two seasons without the club being ruined, without fans losing heart and with enjoyment of the better class of opposition seen.  Hull will be the same this year.

None of us has lost faith we are simply concerned at the lack of action in the transfer market.
For years Hull City have failed to issue a financial report and have covered this up with puerile statements such as "There's a bit left" and "We expect to show a loss of half a million quid" but nothing has been issued. Today someone has reported that there was a 5 MILLION quid debt at the end of last season which has caused some consternation with the supporters.
We do not own our own stadium and are charged a "peppercorn rent" by Hull City Council who gave administration rights to an independent body. How much is the 'peppercorn rent' or have this body turned round to Hull City Board of Directors the morning after their promotion to the Premier League and said "Jeezuz, have you seen the price of peppercorns recently" and upped their share of the gate?
If we took ALL the gate receipts it would come nowhere near covering our current wage bill of 8 million quid which is set to leap to somewhere near 14 million quid. Even with TV rights and EPL hand outs Coventry City came down from the EPL with debts totalling 60 MILLION QUID and are teetering on the brink of extinction despite reducing that debt by half!
Have a look at the current transfer market and tell me who Hull City have signed that can score goals next season at this level!
We have failed in 90% of our attempts to sign quality players!
Paul Duffens syndicate have bought the Club for 10 million quid but have ploughed absolutely zilch back in!
Their original 60 million quid failed offer for West Ham was dependent on using Upton Park as collateral. They can't do that at Hull City.
I have supported this Club since 1946 and will continue regardless of where we are in the Football League but one is entitled to ask serious questions about the Clubs future which appears to be going nowhere after the euphoria of Wembley is dying down.

I certainly did mate. Saw the first game after the war with my grandad and been a fan ever since. When Viggo came to City he paid his own way but when he got here the Club wasn't allowed to pay him as he hadn't been a resident for 2 years so (officially) he played for nothing but (you're gonna laugh) he made a few bob by setting up a stall outside Boothferry Park selling "Viggo's polska sausages" (no kidding) which he had to hand over to a friend just before kick off so he could get changed! How many of our current professionals would do that these days.
When I left school I started as an apprentice at Montague Burtons the Tailor and one of my first customers was Viggo. He bought a 3 piece suit for 14 pound 19 shillings and gave me the shilling tip. I was rapt!
I was also there in our record crowd of 55,019 at BP. Scrambled up the back of Bunkers many times to be tossed down to the front by a crossed arm conveyor belt of adult fans. Happy days!

He used to tell me about a winger called Dally Duncan who could run faster backwards than he could run forwards. I never quite figured out the advantage in this.
A bloke called Starling who was ridiculed by the fans because he was a Sunday School teacher so he left and went on to Captain England. Apparently the same bloke was on a one-on-one with the Arsenal goalkeeper in a Cup game but his shot struck the goalie and knocked him out. He could have tapped the rebound in but was more concerned with the health of the goalie and went to his assistance instead. The match was drawn and City lost the replay which would have put them in the semi-final or final, I forget which.

i've heard the name Dally Duncan, but not that story (sounds like the kind of trick Folan might master, if he put his mind to it )

that lad Starling would have been playing in the 1930 semi v Arsenal (if my memory is right)

I'll check it on wiki

On the weekend when i ring him, I must ask my dad who is 72 if he can remember any stories his dad told him

edit - yep, seems the part of the brain that deals with football is relatively impervious to the effects of alcohol

from wiki >>

The club's greatest achievement in cup competitions was in 1930, when they reached the FA Cup semi-final.[7] The cup run saw Hull knocking out Leeds United and eventual Champions of the Second and Third Division; Blackpool and Plymouth Argyle respectively. They then knocked out Manchester City, to meet Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter finals. The first leg at St James' Park finished as a 11 draw, but in the replay Hull beat Newcastle 10. The semi-final match against Arsenal took place at Elland Road in Leeds, the game ended 22, and was taken to a replay. Arsenal knocked Hull out at Aston Villa's home ground, the game ended 10.[5]
