point at home v QPR - sounds like a failry even contest with Taarabat providing some entertainment via a sulk in the 1st half
Could have won it late on but still great to get a point v QPR.
And good on the Hull fans too. Yzarabt needs to grow up, ply with consistancey and learn to pass the friggen ball. Scores some sheer brilliant goal and then plays like a spoiled kid.

Hull City and league-leaders Queens Park Rangers played out a 0-0 draw at the KC Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In an even contest with limited chances, both sides cancelled each other out with City claiming a second clean sheet in three games.
Corry Evans made his first start for the Tigers in place of Ian Ashbee as the only change to the starting eleven.
New signing Tijani Belaid was on the bench while Andy Dawson captained the side.
Some slack defending from QPR in the early moments almost let Aaron Mclean in for the first chance of the afternoon, but visiting goalkeeper Paddty Kenny was able to sweep up before the City striker could take advantage.
Good work from Tommy Smith created a chance for Adel Taarabt to hit a shot from 30 yards, the effort flying just over Brad Guzan's bar.
City had looked the brighter side in the opening 15 minutes, but the best chance fell to QPR when Guzan couldn't hold Taarabt's corner, but Kaspars Gorkss volleyed over from ten yards.
QPR thought they had the lead when Ishmael Miller slotted past Guzan in the 29th minute, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
City's first shot on target came six minutes later as Cameron Stewart took aim from the edge of the box, but Kenny went to his right to make a smart save.
QPR's Taarabt and Shaun Derry then had an on-field arguement and as the City crowd got at Taarabt he signalled to his manager that he wanted to come off. His plea fell on deaf ears, though, and he spent the remainder of the half sulking in the centre circle much to the amusement of the home fans.
Half Time: Tigers 0-0 QPR
City won a corner early in the second half when Mclean's low cross was sliced over his own bar by Bradley Orr. Dawson delivered the corner and when it was cleared to the edge of the box, Robert Koren saw his shot blocked.
James Harper then tested Kenny with a 25-yard drive that the keeper had to turn over for another City corner. Dawson worked it short with Evans, but when the ball came into the box, it was cleared by the visiting defence.
City made their first change on 65 minutes as Nick Barmby replaced Mclean.
A fantastic set-piece delivery by Taarabt to the back post picked out Orr on 68 minutes, but the full back could only volley high and wide from close range.
Harper was booked a minute later for a challenge on Matt Connolly.
City's second change saw Jamie Devitt come on for Stewart.
Devitt brought a fine save out of Kenny seven minutes from time, the QPR keeper blocking at his near post following a tricky run from the winger.
City's golden chance arrived deep into added time when Liam Rosenior's clever ball sent Fryatt racing away. But although the striker lifted the ball over Kenny, he cleared the bar as well.
There was still time for Evans to go close with a shot from 30 yards, but in the end there was no way through.
Tigers: Brad Guzan, Liam Rosenior, James Chester, Anthony Gerrard, Andy Dawson, Robert Koren, James Harper, Corry Evans, Cameron Stewart (Devitt 73), Aaron Mclean (Barmby 65), Matty Fryatt.
Subs: Matt Duke, Paul McShane, Tom Cairney, Tijani Belaid, Jamie Devitt, Nick Barmby, Jay Simpson.
QPR: Paddy Kenny, Bradley Orr, Clint Hill, Shaun Derry, Adel Taarabt, Alejandro Faurlin (Vaagen Moen 68), Kaspars Gorkss, Wayne Routledge, Matt Connolly, Tommy Smith (Hulse 73), Ishmael Miller (Ephraim 85).
Subs: Radek Cerny, Fitz Hall, Rob Hulse, Petter Vaagen Moen, Hogan Ephraim, Pascal Chimbonda, Danny sh*ttu.
Referee: Mr K.D. Hill.

Paul Warburton/Fulham Chronicle
Taarabt strop as QPR gain point
Hull City 0-0 QPR
THE most exciting action of this bore draw was the amazing sulk thrown by Adel Taarabt nine minutes from the end of the first hald.
A pass intended for the QPR Moroccan was wayward, but the midfielder then incredibly stood in the centre of the pitch while berating his team-mates.
He then signalled to the bench that he wanted to come off as Hull fans jeered to the rafters of the stadium and only got involved again after a number of others in hoops cajoled him back into the game.
Consoling arms around the shoulder from Shaun Derry and Tommy Smith appeared to calm down the Rs captain and a fair bit of man-management in the dressing room saw Taarabt out for the second period.
However, neither he nor anyone in Rangers blue-and-white could break the deadlock. Bradley Orr came closest just past the hour when he scooped over after stealing up on the blind side
And Kaspars Gorkss has not been at his best in front of goal recently and the defender got no luckier when he contrived to side-foot over the bar in the box as he latched on to an early corner.
Matty Fryatt should have won it in the last minute for Hull but apart from Taarabts strop, the most worrying thing for boss Neil Warnock was suffering Smith limping off with what looked like a hamstring problem on 72 minutes.

Farewell Ian Ashbee!!!
from the official club site
>>
In leading the Tigers through the divisions, Ashbee cemented his place in the record books as being the only man to captain the same side to promotion from every division of the Football League.
All of this was achieved despite suffering two career-threatening injuries, both of which were fought and overcome with his trademark determination and courage.
Ashbee's Hull City career comes to an end with 264 appearances and 12 goals to his name.
He leaves with the thanks, recognition and appreciation for all that he has done for this football club and we wish him well for his future career.<<

I await my Lotto win. Our tightwad owners will have to open the purse if we did make it.
2-2 draw with dirty Leeds yesterday
Rosenior now injured
a return to winning ways would be ideal - these last two draws have indicated we are on the right track (perhaps not for this season - but hopefully we'll keep building towards a great season in 2011-12

Our fans so easily forget what happened to us when we finally achieved entry into "The Promised Land" of EPL Football - we found that we were 'person non grata' by both by the league and 'quality' players.
Nobody wanted to join us except 'has been' players looking for a swan song to boost their up-coming pensions and 'never was' players too readily prepared to blame the Club, the Management and their fellow team-mates for their own failings at top level.
The Allam's are too financially discreet to fall into the free-spending trap again and will be well aware that the Club will again receive the proverbial "Thanks, but No Thanks" replies from quality players (should we achieve promotion again) when we try to improve the team.
Should we reach the EPL again I am sure that the money we shall receive will be used to reimburse the Allam's in recognition of their generosity in saving the Club and the rest spent on the training and "Stadium of Excellence" facilities as well as expanding the KC Stadium in an effort to improve the Clubs image. Only then can we begin to attract the players required to establish ourselves in the EPL.
It was a wonderful feeling after 104 years to taste the glory of EPL football especially when we 'kicked arse' with our patchy team of band-aid, adrenalin-fuelled battlers but we must learn from our experience and crawl before we try to walk next time.
We are far from an EPL side and I personally would like to see a couple of seasons of building before we make a foray again.
agree with what you are saying OT - just would like us to have another bash or two while I'm still on the planet
no immediate plans to leave ;)
no immediate plans to leave ;)
hmm - 8th - less (midfield) obscurity by the day, at present
We could easily make the play-offs and with a team that contains none of those who achieved EPL status nor played in the EPL for us during our last foray perhaps with the exception of Dawson.
No mean achievement but I do not beleive we are ready for the EPL yet.
Would like to see the Allam's get some of their money back first.
"Since losing to Sc**thorpe in early November, City have tasted defeat just once in 18 league games to trigger a remarkable rise from 22nd to eighth in the Championship."

good win away at Forest (like a few Forest fans I'm a bit surprised by that result, unlike them I'm smiling)
our away form is in stark contrast to last season's!
>>Hull held on to make it 14 games without defeat on their travels, beating the previous record set during the 1948-49 season.<<
1-0 at coventry
8th again, but 5 points off top 6 and teams around us have games in hand

There is a chance that we could make the play-offs which would be a great achievement but we are far from ready for the EPL nor can we attract the players to survive in the EPL.
I am not getting carried away by all the hoo-hah and am quite prepared for another two seasons in the Championship.
looks like it's at least one more season in championship for us
With a mere 15 goals from 20 home games we are far from ready for the EPL. Players of the calibre we need simply will not join us so we are between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
The attendance dropped below 20,000 yesterday which is a worry. Would you pay over 400 quid to see a goal every second game? Support is one thing but in this day and age there is also 'value for money' to be taken into consideration.
We have a lot of work to do.
another away win, we are certainly decent value for money on the road at the moment
We certainly are. We are in the top 3 in defense and the bottom 3 in attack. Says it all.
Garcia's future doesn't look too bright as he seems to be out of favour.
Is it possible to get all our remaining games to be played away? Seriously, this is the Nix in reverse. Happy with the points though. Not sure if promotion is a good idea but getting a play-off would be good to attract players for next season with the then possibility of promotion.
seems that most of us agree that we aren't ready to go up
but after the start to the season and our money worries when we dropped out of the Prem, I'm v happy with how we are building again
swans away mid-week

yep, be nice to finish higher than them - play-offs or not
My sources could be wrong but I just read a home win and 3 goals. Fantastic.
yep 3-1 v doncaster
and up to 8th - 2 points off the last play-off spot (our goal diff doesn't help)
interesting how much less exciting this is than the season we went up

no so good at home this time!

I'm reasonably happy how we've managed to turn the season around. Good solid season. Will put us in good shape next year.
PS. is Jimmy Bullard returning from loan at the end of the season or is his move permanent?
He's signed no deal with Town but there are talks.
Rumour has it that QPR are interested but the wages and fee are a put-off.
Jimmy has two years to run on his contract which, at 45 grand per week, works out at 4.5 million quid. He will not give that up as he is in the winter of his career and his dicky kness will put prospective buyers off.
Clubs will not take the chance on paying out his contract owing to his injuries. This leaves a season long loan as the option whereby if he gets injured then they send him back.
Our best hope is that someone comes in for a season long contract at 15-20 grand.
Jimmy had an appearance clause in his contract which, if triggered, would net him another 3 grand per week but some say he forfeited this in return for being allowed to go on loan to Ipswich.
As yet there are no rumours as to another striker or two without which we will struggle in mid table next season as McLean, Cullen and Simpson are far from this level.
Happy with the season - and Pearson seems a good manager
be good to off-load Bullard but as you say Oz-T it will be difficult
hopefully we can sign Gerrard (the centre-back one)but I'm not sure if that's likely
be good to have Cameron Stewart back from injury next season
