Could have won it late on but still great to get a point v QPR.

Hull City and league-leaders Queens Park Rangers played out a 0-0 draw at the KC Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In an even contest with limited chances, both sides cancelled each other out with City claiming a second clean sheet in three games.
Corry Evans made his first start for the Tigers in place of Ian Ashbee as the only change to the starting eleven.
New signing Tijani Belaid was on the bench while Andy Dawson captained the side.
Some slack defending from QPR in the early moments almost let Aaron Mclean in for the first chance of the afternoon, but visiting goalkeeper Paddty Kenny was able to sweep up before the City striker could take advantage.
Good work from Tommy Smith created a chance for Adel Taarabt to hit a shot from 30 yards, the effort flying just over Brad Guzan's bar.
City had looked the brighter side in the opening 15 minutes, but the best chance fell to QPR when Guzan couldn't hold Taarabt's corner, but Kaspars Gorkss volleyed over from ten yards.
QPR thought they had the lead when Ishmael Miller slotted past Guzan in the 29th minute, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
City's first shot on target came six minutes later as Cameron Stewart took aim from the edge of the box, but Kenny went to his right to make a smart save.
QPR's Taarabt and Shaun Derry then had an on-field arguement and as the City crowd got at Taarabt he signalled to his manager that he wanted to come off. His plea fell on deaf ears, though, and he spent the remainder of the half sulking in the centre circle much to the amusement of the home fans.

City won a corner early in the second half when Mclean's low cross was sliced over his own bar by Bradley Orr. Dawson delivered the corner and when it was cleared to the edge of the box, Robert Koren saw his shot blocked.

Our fans so easily forget what happened to us when we finally achieved entry into "The Promised Land" of EPL Football - we found that we were 'person non grata' by both by the league and 'quality' players.
Nobody wanted to join us except 'has been' players looking for a swan song to boost their up-coming pensions and 'never was' players too readily prepared to blame the Club, the Management and their fellow team-mates for their own failings at top level.
The Allam's are too financially discreet to fall into the free-spending trap again and will be well aware that the Club will again receive the proverbial "Thanks, but No Thanks" replies from quality players (should we achieve promotion again) when we try to improve the team.
Should we reach the EPL again I am sure that the money we shall receive will be used to reimburse the Allam's in recognition of their generosity in saving the Club and the rest spent on the training and "Stadium of Excellence" facilities as well as expanding the KC Stadium in an effort to improve the Clubs image. Only then can we begin to attract the players required to establish ourselves in the EPL.
It was a wonderful feeling after 104 years to taste the glory of EPL football especially when we 'kicked arse' with our patchy team of band-aid, adrenalin-fuelled battlers but we must learn from our experience and crawl before we try to walk next time.
We are far from an EPL side and I personally would like to see a couple of seasons of building before we make a foray again.

We could easily make the play-offs and with a team that contains none of those who achieved EPL status nor played in the EPL for us during our last foray perhaps with the exception of Dawson.
No mean achievement but I do not beleive we are ready for the EPL yet.

There is a chance that we could make the play-offs which would be a great achievement but we are far from ready for the EPL nor can we attract the players to survive in the EPL.
I am not getting carried away by all the hoo-hah and am quite prepared for another two seasons in the Championship.

With a mere 15 goals from 20 home games we are far from ready for the EPL. Players of the calibre we need simply will not join us so we are between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
The attendance dropped below 20,000 yesterday which is a worry. Would you pay over 400 quid to see a goal every second game? Support is one thing but in this day and age there is also 'value for money' to be taken into consideration.
We have a lot of work to do.

I'm reasonably happy how we've managed to turn the season around. Good solid season. Will put us in good shape next year.
PS. is Jimmy Bullard returning from loan at the end of the season or is his move permanent?
He's signed no deal with Town but there are talks.
Rumour has it that QPR are interested but the wages and fee are a put-off.
Jimmy has two years to run on his contract which, at 45 grand per week, works out at 4.5 million quid. He will not give that up as he is in the winter of his career and his dicky kness will put prospective buyers off.
Clubs will not take the chance on paying out his contract owing to his injuries. This leaves a season long loan as the option whereby if he gets injured then they send him back.
Our best hope is that someone comes in for a season long contract at 15-20 grand.
Jimmy had an appearance clause in his contract which, if triggered, would net him another 3 grand per week but some say he forfeited this in return for being allowed to go on loan to Ipswich.
As yet there are no rumours as to another striker or two without which we will struggle in mid table next season as McLean, Cullen and Simpson are far from this level.
