Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink eyes former Tottenham star to bolster QPR squad
JIMMY FLOYD HASSELBAINK wants to begin his QPR revolution by snapping up Tom Huddlestone from Hull for £4.25m.
New Rangers boss Hasselbaink is targeting a creative midfielder as a priority signing when the January transfer window opens up.
And Huddlestone, 28, has shot to the top of his wish list after losing his place in the Tigers starting line-up.
The former Derby and Tottenham star has been capped four times by England.
He was expected to be a key figure in relegated City’s bid to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking. But he has been handed only 12 starts this season and has spent much of the time warming the bench for boss Steve Bruce’s promotion chasers.
Huddlestone arrived as a £5.25m recruit from Spurs in August 2013.
But Hull are ready to cash-in now rather than lose him for nothing when his contract runs out in June.
But Rangers face competition from Premier League strugglers Aston Villa, who have been tracking him since the start of the season.
Personally, I cant see this happening. We're after freebies and cheap deals these days which isn't too bad a thing. And note, it is from a report in the Daily Star.
