As an Arsenal fan my excuse the last few season has been injuries, the last few seasons it was a lack of Cesc & RvP fitness, and this season it's been a lack of Wilshire & full backs.
However has anyone had any data to match this? I.e. if every team played in a 4-4-2 all season, and you listed a squad into the first string 4-4-2 and second string 4-4-2 and matched out what their injuries were, you'd get an interesting overview of which clubs have a genuine complaint and which clubs don't.
Firstly does this sound interesting? Secondly has anyone seen it done?

I suppose what I'm trying to get at is has anyone seen an easy way to compare which teams injuries throughout the season have been worse? Ie if the team that won the EPL had their first string team available 85% of the time, and the team that came fourth had their first string team available 70% of the time, then then fourth place team could say they were hard done by injuries, and look to address their cover/insufficient depth.

Injury and suspension management is part of a season. Most managers strive to have depth to their squad, signing versatile players who can provide cover when the stars are unavailable. Those who fail to do so are responsible for the results of their policy.
So, in answer to your first question - no, it doesn't sound particularly interesting. To the second question, likely suspects are Johnathan Wilson or Michael Cox, though perhaps not for the current season.
