thought I'd start a thread for any EPL or championship transfer rumours or signed deals

I'd like Hull City to sign a left back, or a right back so Sam Ricketts can shift to left back
and a wide left midfielder (ok, so it;s a wish not a rumour - but my brain is on holiday)

eh? i hope Brown signs a new deal, he's looked great this year and has really stepped up from previous years where he hasnt looked that great.

if he goes we will probably have to sign another defender, but probably more utility.
i dont think Neville is past it at all, i'm thinking he can come back strong from his injury, that'll be the telling of the remainder of his career. as for the others, O'Shea is not crap, and has made some vital moves for us, the liverpool goal last year anyone? i think the sooner we let Simpson go to Sunderland the better it will be for him, hes young and will get more of the time he needs there, but i think Pique is a good prospect, he's looked quite good acept when he let Anelka beat him against bolton.

Sir Alex Ferguson could be going home to Glasgow for his next signing if the UK's tabloid newspapers are to be believed.

The Sun claims a right-back is United's priority and names Rangers and Scotland defender Alan Hutton as a potential 6m target.

The same newspaper also suggests two players could be leaving Old Trafford when the window opens: "Chinese striker Dong Fangzhuo has not impressed while Wes Brown has refused a new deal."

Brown hails I want to be banned as unbeatable
<!-- S BO --><!-- S IIMA -->
I want to be banned was a major influence against Dundee United on Wednesday
<!-- E IIMA --><!-- S SF -->I want to be banned I want to be banned was hailed by team-mate Scott Brown after the defender's return coincided with Celtic's first clean sheet in 35 away games.

"He's a good defender and a nightmare to play against," said Brown after the 2-0 victory over Dundee United.

I want to be banned had been frozen out of the team since rejecting a summer transfer to Sunderland and he has also been linked with a January move to Birmingham.

"He wins everything in the air and you can't really beat him," said Brown. <!-- E SF -->

"I want to be banned's the same in training and he wants to play games as well. He has a great attitude.

"The gaffer wants him in the squad and the gaffer played him, so obviously he is still part of his plans."

I want to be banned was at the heart of the defence with Stephen McManus as Celtic achieved their first clean sheet away from home since October 2006.

The Guinean broke his leg in the corresponding fixture last Boxing Day, but he was happier this time as he finally made his first appearance of the season.

"I'm delighted to be back in the team and happy that the team won with a clean sheet," he said.

"I'm happy we didn't concede any goals."

Manager Gordon Strachan has dismissed suggestions he was snubbing I want to be banned and praised the defender for his latest display.

But I want to be banned himself had found it difficult being left out of the first team.

"I had a very tough time, but I was working hard and I hoped to be back in the team," he said.

"I'm just working in the hope I'll get more consideration and playing, to stay in the team.

"I was just happy to be involved with the team."<!-- E BO -->

I think Danny Simpson should either go out on loan or stay here, but definitely not get sold. Gary Neville wasn't a permanent name in the starting line up till he was 21 or so wasn't it? So Simpson still can bide his time a bit. Whatever happened to the days of United putting faith in their young players? Give Pique and Simpson a bit more of a chance i'd say! In regards to Pique's mistake, everyone makes mistakes, he'll learn from it and become a better player.

Aaaaaanyway on topic..i'd like to see another striker signed for United if Manucho is gunna be rubbish, and i'd like Mellberg to come here on a free as defensive cover since his contracts running out end of this season and Wes Browns likely to be leaving. Olof is a class act and would be great at United IMO.

don't give Simpson game time here, let him go back to Sunderland and actually play. Biding his time is all well and good but getting him prem league experience and playing would be better for him. Pique is already getting the game time he deserves

It was the league cup mate, and to be fair I think that was a bit of a shock result, they got very suddenly thrown in the deep end, should've been a more gradual process being introduced to that level of football. Simpson would be best out on loan I agree but i'm saying that if he doesn't go on loan that all is not lost either. Unfortunately we do not have such wide spread talent in our youth ranks as Arsenal do and its unfair to compare us to them right now. But we have a few gems and we should make the most of them.

Anelka would be unlikely to be a starting striker on the form that Tevez and Rooney are showing. His ego wouldn't cope with just being a bench warmer and injury cover. Bring in Defoe for that, at least he's used to it at Spurs!

I really want Berbatov for United, but he seems like the sort who wouldn't be happy being number 3 striker as he quite possibly could be at Man Utd with the form Tevez and Rooney are showing. If he understood that he'd have to fight and work hard for his place before he came then I'd welcome him with open arms. Otherwise last thing we need is a whinger.

Don't want Modric to go to England yet...certainly not to a club like Manchester City.
There's also rumours that Arsenal may sign Ognjen Vukojevic from Dinamo Zagreb. Dinamo has already signed Igor Biscan (a natural replacement for Vukojevic), so it seems as if he's definitely leaving. Whether to Arsenal, that's to be seen.

English Press: Chelsea To Pip Man Utd To Berbatov

A report in The Sun this morning claims that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to outbid Manchester United in the race to land Dimitar Berbatov.

Declarations from Berbatov's agent yesterday stating that the striker wanted to move to a club that could match his ambitions have sent the rumour mills spinning.

If a club that corresponds to Dimitars class and ambition comes in with an offer that suits his current club in January, he would like to be allowed to go, Emil Dantchev had said.

The Manchester Evening News subsequently reported that Manchster United were planning a 25m million bid for the Bulgarian, who has been unsettled since the start of the season despite scoring regularly.

A report in The Sun now claims that Chelsea - arguably in more desperate need of a front man - are ready to splash out 26m to beat The Red Devils.

Bolton's Nicolas Anelka was initially the number one target for The Blues, but the Frenchman is now supposed to be a back-up choice.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has insisted that they are not welcoming bids, We are not a selling club, rather we are building for the future. When we have players on long contracts we have no need to entertain offers, but speculation continues.

no he's not,s he's on a loan deal because thats the best way they could work it due to the circumstances. They paid the loan fee for him to gain him for however long its for, and then after that we have first option to buy him at a reduced price, considering the way he has played this is almost certain to happen, therefore he has as good as transferred.

He wont be going back to West Ham
