I think that Kinnear has made a premeditated decsion to have a press conference like that to move the attention off the players and on to him for a few days. Mourinho used to be good at stirring up some controversy prior to big games, so everything was about him, and the players could prepare in a relaxed environment, and I think that Joking Ear has tried the same trick, but in a slightly more bonkers way.
