That's why I pick Roy Keane to become one of the all-time management greats. He calls a spade a spade, and I can imagine that he'd be a great boss if you were an honest, commited, gutsy footballer, the sort that you'd sweat blood and guts for. The problem with today's footballers, as he says, is that a lot of them are not like that.
Keane also has an aura on the sideline. I don't know how many of you saw the win vs Spurs, but his mere presence seemed to add a player to Sunderland's rank.

I'm amazed by how calm Keano comes across as, nothing like the foamy-mouthed beast I always had him down as. Still they didn't lose v spurs - early days yet. But i do wonder if the red mist was left behind when he hung up his boots?

Hope so - football needs managers who care about the old fashioned values in the game.

I think anyone who spent time under the greatest ever, Brian Clough, is already mentally prepared for the world of management.
The fact Keano (my all time hero, despite all the Red) was also one of the most intelligent footy players ever means he is going to be pretty damn good.
