Frank Lampard is set to leave Chelsea this summer.

The News of the World says Lampard is reluctantly poised to quit Chelsea after contract talks between him and the club sensationally collapsed.

He is now likely to complete a move to either Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus - unless Chelsea make a dramatic and unexpected last-ditch attempt to keep him.

But one Stamford Bridge insider warned: "That is highly unlikely. This looks like the end of the road for Frank and Chelsea."

The news comes after an emergency board meeting failed to agree a new offer for the England midfielder.

Well, i have to say i didnt see this coming. A big loss to Chelsea, but a bigger gain for Steve Sidwell who looks like his chances of being brought on as a sub grows ever bigger!!!

Who will pick him up? Will he stay in England or leave for Italy or Spain?

He will have to go to a club with more money than sense and there are no english choices left.  Juve for me.

Wiith the cash us Hammer's now have to splash it's not unreasonable, but I think he'll stay in England with a big club - who's the last Englishman to excel in Spain?

Arsenal's season has been riddled with injuries, so we were not up to par. As for Gallas hes had a great season while hes played. Solid at the back with toure.

Beckham did not excel by any means of the word.  At his best he was serviceable, at his worst he was atrocious, the last 2 seasons he's been a bench player, he's been steadily derided on the international scene,  and Real Madrid have become perennial strugglers.  And we all know about the latest developments.

Last Pom to do anything in Spain really was McManaman - other than that Laurie Cunningham anyone - or old Lineker. PROAK2007-05-29 19:39:47

I'd say Lineker is probably Britain's last successful export to Spain with Steve Archibald shortly before him. More recent ones have been mediocre, Michael Owen anyone?
Beckham was (predictably) a success commercially but less effective on the field. Sums up his whole career, really.
Oh, and Laurie Cunningham, Orient legend. Died in a car accident in Madrid not long after he'd retired. Sad.

There's no way Lampard will go to Arsenal:

A. We couldn't afford him (limited funds).
B. We don't need another central midfielder (particularly given our limited funds).
C. I would not want him there.

If he leaves it will be Barca, I'm certain of that. The only other option might be back to West Ham, if the Icelandic cookie monster opens his cheque book and guarantees a few more big signings.

I would love to see Lampard stay in England and play for a lower cut englash squad. it brings back come entertainment back into football. Right now its just, if your rich you win.

For the money they would end up paying Lamps (if what they say he wants from Chelsea is true) then I hope he doesn't come back to West Ham. Apparently Scott Parker is top of Curbs wish list and I'd prefer it if we signed him.

Besides, I haven't forgotten the way he left last time.

If I had to put money on it I would say Tevez is going to chelsea. Word has it he still hasn't forgiven Curbs for not playing him when he first joined as manager. And Tevez has already public said it is an 'honour' to be linked with Chelsea. Sounds like code for 'I hope I'm going to Chelsea'.

There's lots of rumours floating round about him. I've also heard that he is going to Spain.

I'm hoping that his friendship with Mascherano and all the Spanish speakers already at Anfield might be an influence.

Tevez will come to Chelsea and Lamps will stay - he deserves to renegotiate his contract after the last 3 seasons scoring an average 20 goals per season.  He has been a major contributor to our silverware collection over the last few years.  Sure I can agree with the downside of his game and his inability to perform for England but he has given nothing but great service to Chelsea since signing and I am sure he'll stay.

Its a major media beat up about Frank, JT and Jose and they will all be there next season - sorry to disappoint all the anti-Blues......

Tevez will come, Sidwell has joined, Glen Johnson will come back, Tal Ben Haim will shore up our defence and we may even bring Brazilian defender Alex back from PSV.  Out with Bhoularouz, Ferriera and Geremi.

We're going to be stronger than ever......and I can't wait.  Sheva has settled in now and will fire like he did in Italy.....(I hope!)

Darren Bent is still our number one target, which has become a reality now Charlton have gone down, and would be available for far less than the seventeen million pounds Hammers stumped up in the last transfer window.  Obviously I hope Tevez stays but Bent is a more than able replacement!
