I should just start a thread with the title, "have you read the Guardian?" However Micheal Owen's interview makes an interesting read.

Should he go? On game time probably not, he'd get injured in the first match he played in anyway. He has changed his game but is it enough? Still he's no bottler when it comers to the big matches.

So if you were Cappello  what strike force would you take?

Agbonlarhor, Young, Defoe and Heskey.

Heskey as hold up man; the Villa pair for pace and Defoe coz he is a poacher.

In my view, it is a matter of who to team up in attack with Rooney, especially with his recent form.
I would go for Defoe or Heskey, depending what team they play against.
Can't see Roo and Owen playing together in same line up, it ain't working well in Man Utd, it won't work in national 11 neither.

Rooney, Defoe, Crouch and Owen.

Two top scorers, a target man..and a terrier.

I expected Rooney is a given!  This was for the other squad members.  It is about combinations and choices I agree.

Owen doesnt do it good enough anymore....bit player nowadays.

I'm amazed that you lot have gone for Owen, I'm not having a go as for me he can score in big matches, but I doubt he should go along purely on his past reputation, as at the mo he's a bit sh*te. Bugger I don't know.
