Free to watch Roy interview. Some interesting insight. I notice he can't 'R', so I'd imagine he'd pronounce his own name Woy. But anyway, he talks a little about Danny Murphy. I think Danny wants to come back.

f**k off to Madrid, Stevie. You can be second best to Barca every season.

Being second is probably starting to look more and more appealing to old Gerrard nowadays.

Benayoun looks like he is at Chelski now. I always liked him, but going to Chelski is a step too far. Goodbye.

On signing news supposedly Arda Turan is someone we are looking at, even before we had a manager. He wants to join Liverpool and he is said to be a considerable talent so would be a good signing.

See ya Benny. I get the feeling the Chelski bench may get a bit cold. Wrap up tight.

Real are supposedly offering Gago, Drenthe and Van der Vaart to get Gerrard.

Also links to sign Yashuhito Endo from Gamba Osaka.

Not really convinced on any of the above names

Hodgson has stressed that he will keep his focus on domestic players this summer.

"We would be foolish not to be aware of the importance of homegrown players with the way UEFA and Premier League rules are going," he said on the club's official website. "Otherwise we're going to struggle to get our squad numbers together.

"I think the club have been trying to do that already with younger players like Jonjo Shelvey and Raheem Sterling but it takes time for them to come through so we might have to go into the transfer market."

He added: "We have furnished the World Cup with more players than any other team but, looking at the squad at Melwood (Liverpool's training ground), it did seem very small in terms of seniors."

While I can appreciate the fact we need a couple of English players right now I'd rather see money from the likes of Masch spent on decent foreigners. There really aren't any Brits out there...

Fortunately for us Roy promised Fulham that he wouldn't "raid the squad". What's to raid?

Ashley Young immediately linked after his Brit comments.

Chris Greenacre? Seems like Roy is going out of his way to meet with Stevie G and Dirk was saying that he had a phone call from him. Good strategy Roy

I remember when Rafa first came in and he had a word with Carra, Stevie and Owen. They all thought they were going to get the big love up, but he just straight told them where they needed to improve (he told Stevie he needed to "stop running so much").

TheKop, my dad said the exact same thing!

Good news this morning for once!

Jova signs for 3 yrs. Woy met with Stevie and Jamie is positive they will be staying after catch up over scones and tea. Focus now is on keeping Nando but that shouldn't be too much trouble if the likes of Stevie are staying put.

Oh and at least two LFC players will receive WC2010 winners medals on Monday morning!

Nando & Pepe
or
Kuyt and Babel

Still need another top striker regardless of whether Nando stays or goes.

For each of the last 2 seasons we have had to play almost half the season without Torres and without him we have become somewhat toothless. So need someone who can either play along side Torres or instead of him.

Congrats to Torres and Reina for winning, disappointed for both Dirk and Ryan. Hopefully Torres' knock isn't too bad.

So looking like Masch will be gone, Ever Banega has been mentioned as a replacement. I'd be happy to have him in the team, he looks like a quality player.

It appears the winners medal and touching the WC trophey has instantly healed Nando. Let's hope so. Bit gutted Kuyt misses out on a trophy but good to see Nando and Pepe with it.

Did anyone read Yossi's remarks about Benitez? Didn't think he was that sort of chap, maybe it's best he's on the bench at Chelski.

At least his WC performance will probably mean Nando stays with the Reds.

After all, what decent team would want to buy a crocked, out of form, injury prone striker.

It does seem that Rafa is distant from his players. Wonder if Woy's approach will win some of the players over. I'm still surprised that Chelski signed him.

Slightly tongue-in-cheek but honestly can't see a big name team wanting to spend huge money to buy him in his current form/condition. Why would Chelsea (for arguments sake) spend 50 mill when he has missed almost half of the last 2 seasons and didn't look like he was going to score at the WC and might now have picked up a new injury.

Good news for us though.

New signing Milan Jovanovic has been handed the famous No.10 shirt after completing his transfer from Standard Liege.

The number has previously been worn by Anfield legends like John Barnes, Terry McDermott, Jan Molby, Luis Garcia and John Toshack.

It was last donned by another free transfer, Andriy Voronin.

Having Voronin wear the #10 was disrespectful to it's heritage. I have no issues with Jova though. Hopefully he wears it with pride.

David N'Gog was suppose to go on loan to WBA. But was canceled club not sure if they can get more strikers in so N'Gog is needed in the first team.

Not a good sign... I suppose it's good news for Wood though

See we are heavily linked with Scharner? Ngog staying because he is needed in the first too UH-OH. Still I read an interesting article which said that we are 'quite likely' to have new owners before the start of the season....here is hoping.
