it has the potential to be a great signing, but he didn't come back well from his injury last year and wasn't great at the world cup. Needs a good solid start to the season and to stay injury free for a period. He hasn't been injury prone but has had one or two majors...

surprised he went to liverpool, thought he wanted to stay in london which would mean he could go to arsenal/spurs and still play champions league football. i would have thought the only club he would have gone for out of london would have been man utd so he could once again challenge for trophys and still play in the champions league
oh well, im sure he will be great for you

when we won our second title under jose he was outstanding all season. mourinho moulded him into a fine player. after a win against boro when he scored the only goal mourinho singled out joe cole as the worst player cos of his lack of coming back and helping out in defence, became a very masterful player under him

Very pleased with the cole signing even thou he's on a pretty healthy wage! Roy has already trumped all of rafa's free signing's in his first one! Well done! Need a good preseason now and off to a good start of the season.........I still shudder thinking about last season's warm up matches!!

Unfortunately this signing shouldn't take people's attention away from the appaling ownership situation, the appointment of two stooges in Broughton and Purslow who know nothing about the game and are bleeding the club dry and the continued disenfranchisement of Liverpool fans. I'd urge everyone to join the Spirit of Shankly Union and support their moves to put pressure on the banks who own the clubs debt, sponsors, MPs and club employees to sell the club.
Lots of discussion here www.redandwhitekop.com.

Ah I see he is going to be number 7.
Yeah another young player signed looks promising. I wonder if these young players can contribute much this season. Robinson, Shelvey, Pacheco, Ayala, even Spearing, Darby, Kelly and Plessis who have had a little more experience.

Pretty much this. Yeah, he could be a good player for us (if he can stay fit) and its good that Stevie is staying, and this young Scottish lad and all that. But don't lose focus!
Still. Nice to think about football for a while.

This from LFC.tv
Roy Hodgson today confirmed that full-back Philipp Degen can look for a new club.
The Swiss international has struggled to make an impact since arriving at Anfield from Borussia Dortmund in July 2008.
"We have had an amicable conversation with Philipp and he wants to play football," Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"We won't stand in his way and he is free to look for another club."
Any other backs we want to let go??

New Avatar Kop!
I was thinking about the Joe Cole transfer and was wondering. What do you think Stevie G and Carragher would have said to him to sell the Pool at the World Cup? No Champs League, no idea what it would be like working under Roy (or if Roy was even around when they were talking). It lead me to think without being a typical Liverpool fan. Do we have better support than other clubs? Or do our fans support our players differently/better than other clubs. keen on your thoughts.

Joe Cole first interview
Also confirmed he's wearing the #10 and Jova has Alonso's #14. They've just updated the online store.
Guess the #7 stays in the locker.
