Hong Kong businessman Kenny Huang has ruled himself out of the running to buy Liverpool Football Club.
A statement issued on Friday said Huang and his company QSL Sports were pulling out of takeover talks with the club.
The statement did not elaborate on Huang's reasons for withdrawing from negotiations to buy the Anfield club.
"We thank the many Liverpool fans who expressed support for our efforts and wish the club great success in the years to come," Huang said.
"I am now considering my future options and will be making no further comment at this time."
Huang was the first party to openly declare and interest in buying the Merseysiders from Americans Tom Hicks and George Gillett, but refused to comment when it was claimed his bid was backed by the Chinese government.
He has formally notified Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton of his decision.
He added: "Over the past few months we learned first hand that Liverpool has a very special place in the hearts of millions of fans around the world.
"We concluded that a plan that properly capitalises the business and provides funds for a new stadium and player related costs would allow Liverpool FC to provide its great fans with the success they deserve.
"Our strategy and unique ability to expand the fan base in Asia would also have been of benefit to all.
"We regret that we will not have the opportunity to implement this strategy."
Jeez, the plot thickens. Chinese bid pulls out...
There's so much smoke and mirrors floating around at the moment it's near impossible to sort the truth.
This Kenny guy seems to be a master of PR so whether this was a marketing tool for QSL or he some master plan to screw H&G only he and the board knows.
As for these other bids, well, given there's no real proof of anything apart from heresay by a Syrian pizza maker and more chinese whispers from mystery groups no body knows. There's an awful lot riding on Broughton's decision and I hope his supposed pandering of G&H isn't going to cost us. I'd say he's somewhat stuck between a rock and a hard place himself sorting through the genuine bids and stalling bids from G&H. There's one fact we can be sure of and that's G&H will fight for every last dollar...
What's the story with Pacheco? Does he ride the bench or not yet?
Would love to see him on the bench but not sure he will while Babel and Maxi are sharing the load. Maybe that's why he could be loaned out for the season. personally, I'd rather Roy sell Babel to a recording company and stick Pacheco in the squad. Let's develop some real talent
hate you man city & united
Fixed.
Good performance for a team with mid table ambitions.
Peter Kenyon advising on the Chinese bid now. Left Chelsea a couple of weeks ago...

Hopefully he might speed things up after a supposed stall in the discussions.
So rafa left us one last pressie! Bet he wont be rushing to sign him on loan for inter! How did the medical team, backroom staff and rafa get that sooooooo wrong! What a joke

not great news - how certain is it the banks will not extend the rather large over draft?
I hereby predict we will win 6-0 tomorrow.

Did you see the article on BBC about Huang? They were saying that when Abramovic andthe owners of man city bought their clubs there was no news prior to the deal being done. Surely the 4 other bidders are still great options for Liverpool and are happy to do there business away from the media......well hopefully anyway

No mascha...the commentator said that rumour had it he refused to play because a bid had come from barca
Our first halves so far this season have been shockers. Hopefully the half time oranges will do their trick...
And Masch on strike? WTF?

It's going to be another long season.
Fixed.
Yikes...what happened on my car trip to work!! We are currently in 16th place in the EPL! Perennial strugglers
Don't you dare start the perennial thing again...
The perennial strugglers were better.
Got to shake this and move on. Need left sided players too
Temptation...
The Sheikh looked pleased.
i personally dont think we played that bad, which is a worrying sign,
it means their team is just that much better than ours.
We're becoming like a birmingham, the players are playing with passion and for each other,
but the ability just isnt there.
*EDIT: wrong their (i think)*

Not sure what game you were watching, Liverpool were wretched. Torres looked like he was still on holiday, your midfield was completely outplayed by City (whose formation worked exceptionally well, I admit to being a bit surprised) and you barely created a chance all game (Hart's double save was impressive though).
As much as I hate to admit it, Citeh played well. Hart was a rock in goal and his saves really lifted the players.
We were a bit undisciplined and lost the plot at stages, long range efforts that went astray etc. We can play better than that. We've got the players just not the team at the moment. You wonder how much of the off field crap is affecting them?

We are not very good at the moment.

It might do us the world of good.
Maybe not.

Before we move on...On more piece of doom and gloom. One of our current strs has hot the pip. I just want his transfer sorted out.
Who would pay all that cash for him now???
only someone with rocks in his head.
selfish lil git!!
that has got to be one of the worst things you can do to your team before a big game, refuse to play, especialy when your a key player.
Dont nobody try and defend him here either,
he wants to leave cause his wife has got him on the whip

If we weren't so cash strapped I'd just dump his arse out on a back street of Manchester and be done with him. Whip or no whip he's supposed to be a professional player who Captains his country. This behaviour is akin to a tanty my 2 1/2 yr old has when things don't go his way.
If I were Barca (or any other team) and I saw this, I'd walk away. Who says he won't do it again when he's stuck on the Barca bench and decides he wants to go to Italy to play.

Don't flatter us.
What awful viewing. I admit to leaving after Hart made that double save. It was so embarassing and sh*te I couldn't watch anymore. 4-4-2? Give me a break. It was so clear it wasn't working. It was so clear Agger was getting roasted. But hey, at least we have a British manager and use man-to-man marking, eh lads? Fking pathetic. I am just so so so so angry.
And Masch, well, meh. He owes his loyalty to Rafa, not us. He wants to leave and we aren't trying very hard to sell him. He gave a fking top performance last week.. And now we see why we're gonna miss him. But we got Poulsen, I guess, so its all nice and rosy.
