I was shocked to find yesterday for some obscure reason skysports are not showing Liverpool Vs Man U LIVE on saturday night, but showing it delayed at 6:30am?
Why is this.....?
My real question is......does anyone know, apart from the internet, how / where can i possibly watch this game live in Auckland.
This isnt a matter of live or death....its much more important than that!

In fairness it would be a tough decision... man city v chelsea should certainly be a highly charged affair given recent events - that's the game they are showing live instead.
Unless you go through a live streaming website you are not going to see it live. I have tried remonstrating with Sky in the past about this sort of thing and there is nothing they can do. They have a contract with a supplier and are given their list of games - they have no control over it.
In saying that, it is not unheard of for them to have late changes. I've seen in the past a late reversal of the live/delayed games. I'd keep an eye on it in case... though the chances are slim.

IF it was at the same time as Chelsea V City i may understand but in the past they have shown the 12:45pm (gmt) game the 3 pm (gmt) and the 5:30pm (gmt) games.
This has to be one of the only countries in the world which isnt showing it. It a bitter pill to swallow!

Its not on because its the 1145 game and the league and rugby coverage doesn't finish till 12. The only hope is that they stick it on sky sport 3 because the Championns Trophy cricket was supposed to be on there but thats been cancelled.

Just checked there schedule and they have highlights of golf instead on skysports 3. This is so frustrating.

This is a longshot but find a sports bar that has access to FOXTEL Australia. There was a bar in Wellington with this facility.
It means having a huge dish, there is a guy in Auckland who sells them and knows ways of getting FOXTEL.

On SKY Sport 1 we have live international rugby from 9.30pm followed by live Formula 1 at midnight. On SKY Sport 2 we have live NRL from 10.30pm then from 1.55am, we go in to our EPL coverage, with a live game, followed by 2 live games, until the delayed game between Liverpool and Manchester Utd.
On SKY Sport 3 we have delayed golf, and though there may have been a chance of bringing the game in live on this channel, the game is being broadcast in HD, and so as at this stage as we only broadcast HD on SKY Sport 1 and 2, the decision was taken to keep the game in this format and play it out delayed.

Thank you for you input...but no disrespect to any of the other teams that maybe arent shown as often....there is a reason for that.
It is a big game which even neutrals will want to watch.....and as the only other viewing option at that time of night is delayed golf....there are no losers. (please dont tell me there will lots of poeple wanting to watch delayed gold at 11:45pm)

I can see your frustration when there is golf on instead. I absolutely detest the sport and it always seems to get in the way of football coverage. It wouldn't happen if it was rugby.
Getting back to the game in question though, at least its being shown delayed. Spurs v Arsenal wasn't even shown at all last year.

Obviously i cant speak for everyone who is actually interested in the result of the game....but i am sure those who are will know the result of the game way before 6am. Unless it turns out to be a classic 3-3, no one is gonna get up and watch it.
The point now is SKY are thinking people with HD (who will want to whcih the game) would rather watch it delayed (at 6.30am for godsake!) in HD than live not in HD.
Now let me think....will they care?.....I think not.

Maybe i am strange but watching a game which is not live kind of defeats the point. If i cant watch it live i wont watch it.
A game of this magnitude..........(ok usually fails to live up to billing)....has to be watched live.
Also there is no way i will manage to get through the night without being text, emailed even phone from people i know either at the game itself or back home in liverpool watchin on tv.
I will watch it live.....whether that be on the internet or i somehow get sky to change their decision...(not likely but i will keep trying until its too late).

Im with you on that one, we have not been shown yet and wont be till the end of the month, only reason that game is on is because it is away to Old Trafford, surprise surprise.|
However i cant complain, 06/07 was an amazing season for Bolton games, i can remember 9 games on out of 11 from Novemeber onwards with a handful of games before then...
If you have a decent internet speed watch it over the net, i normally do that or if that doesnt work i have a subscription for Wanderers World i can use for commentatry...

Sky have no idea nairny i can recall them planning not to show the Merseyside derby a few years back and it was only due to the fact fratton park(or was it brums park,anyway ) was frozen and Pompeys game got called off, that we even got to see a replay at lunchtime on the sunday.
I figured a woman runs the football department at sky and as such has no idea the history behind some of these big games,this opinion was formed after several emails and telephone calls throughout the week and also the morning i found out the scheduled match was postponed
i feel for you Nairny i would have stayed up too watch the game and i have friends who were getting together this weekend especially for that game as well.

I have an update ....Sky have changed their scheduling.....TO SUIT THEM....and to stop people emailing them about this game not being shown. Here is their reply.......
As the golf on SKY Sport 3 is now coming in live at 11pm there will be no change to the schedule.
However on your point of being able to access games live online this is something we are currently looking into, but it will be depend on if we can get the rights to be able to do this and how much are the FA going to charge!.
I know this has been a frustrating couple of days, but I hope you will enjoy the game.

It's not just the golf that is clashing. There is also live AFL on which finishes just after the lpool/manU match kicks off (11.45pm our time) - they aren't going to get rid of an entire AFL match for the sake of 15 minutes. So they shift the football to 6.30am.
SO WHAT. At least it's on at all. Set your alarm for 6.30 and get up and watch it as if it's live. I know it's not quite as good - but pretty much!
Turn off your cell, take the phone off the hook and keep your computer off. You'll NEVER find out the score.
It aint that big of a deal, seriously. And at least it'll be in HD

however i do agree with most of what has been said here, sky sometimes just dont understand. and the man united liverpool game will attract a lot of viewers, more than golf anyways, but at least for all you folks it is on. oh and jose, i for one did want to find out the result, even made the point of changing channels when the highlights came on before our clash at the middle eastlands, crazy what i do at four in the morning huh! but it was enjoyable to see man united going down, and with luck it will be two on trot for them next week.
sky simply needs to get there priorities straight, quite literally, but in the end it is on, and it shouldent be two hard to avoid hearing the result, although i do know the feeling of finding out the result before you see the game, and yes as someone above me has said, it can quite simply ruin your day. well there is my rant.

Well after all my complaints about SKY i managed to watch the game Live and i have to say although it was on the internet the picture was extremely clear. My lack of italian meant i had no idea what the commentators said but the men in red did all the talking with their feet........
Thanks again for anyone who emailed Sky, from the contact i had with SKy it certainly seemed to get to them a bit. It wont change anything but a women named Jill was at least kept busy answering emails last week.

The wife was up at 4 so watched the Chelsea v Man City match, and ofcourse they spilled the beans with the score of the Liverpool v United game. Spoiled it for her but she managed not to give it away when I got up at 6:30. She's a star.
