Big few days for city fans latley.  SWP returns, a new owner, and bids for Berbatov , Villa and Mario Gomez.  Must admit i was getting pretty worried there when it sounded like Thanksin money was drying up.

New uber-rich Arab owners, coming in secretly over the weekend, have made all this possible. Thaksin's all but gone.
Imagine what they'll buy in January when they have the time. Sparky Hughes' shopping list is now global.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Meh we finished 4 points off the lead last season. Sure we've lost some quality (notably Flamini), but we've got in some decent acquisitions (notably Nasri), and a few back in from long term injury (such as RvP, with Rosicky back soonish).

Plus I wouldn't be surprised to see a DM signing announced later today,

all i can say to waking up to this news unfolding this morning is

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH seriosuly, although i can see it being bad in the long run, looks like theres gonna be some BIG activity in the january window for city, especially seeing as these guys clearly dont think money is an object

well they have said think chelsea and then times it by ten, so if they do 10 times more spending chelsea did when abramovich arrived, i predict a brand new starting 11 for city! i hope genuine city fans are ready for the rush of gloryhunters, it happend overnight when we started winning things!

Al Fahim also said Barcelona's Thierry Henry is in their sights and said: 'These are the kind of players we are looking for. The money is not a worry.'

I'd say they will be looking to go very far in UEFA cup

Yeah good efforts fellas! If it weren't for my love affair with the gunner's you guys would be my team! Man City highlight for me was Geovani's goal against Man-Poo last year, SCREAMER!!!

Maybe Arsene will learn from your example from buying in the talent

six different scorers as well.  Thankfully they rebounded from last week.  Havn't seen the game but sounds like James made a couple of shockers.

Your only as good as your last cup...

One of those games, good game to watch if you weren't a Pompey supporter.

We should see a few Ex-Arse and Chelski supporters wearing Sky Blue....

IT MUST have been a bit of a culture clash. More used to the deep carpets of the boardroom than the din and grit of an English football stadium, Khaldoon al-Mubarak recently watched his first match as chairman-designate of Manchester City, the second club of England's second city. Elegantly suited and bespectacled, Mr Mubarak heads Mubadala, Abu Dhabi's sovereign private-equity fund. But the way he acquired his new job may illustrate rivalries within the emirate's ruling family....
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Just looking through there side, its an achievement how far City have already come with signings!

The frontline is already starting to build up. Santa Cruz and Tevez leading the line and say what you like about Bellamy but being able to rotate players like him, Caicedo and Benjani in is a scary thought (Assuming of course Robinho is used behind the strikers)

It's amazing that they're chasing adebayor considering the options they already have.

If they were indeed to sign Ade, along with Terry, they could put out a starting lineup like this;

                 Given
Richards-Dunne-Terry-Bridge
Robinho-Ireland-Barry-Tevez
    Santa Cruz-Adebayor

That's frightening - although a little on the attacking side.

And still in their squad they'd have; Wright Phillips, Elano, Benjani, Bellamy, Martin Petrov, Kompany, De Jong, Tal Ben Haim and Michael Johnson.

On top of that they've loaned out Jo, sold Sturridge to chelsea and still have promising strikers caicedo and ched evans in their squad too...

A very interesting line up and squad. So long as it's not Fred de Jong of course!!

City will either do a "Blackburn" or a "Tottenham" - I fear the later but hope for the former just to give the EPL some fresh perspectives.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

I think they've got higher ambitions than either of those clubs LG. They want to win the league, no questions asked. Sounds crazy i know - but look at that squad. Each one of the starting eleven would certainly not be out of place in any of the big four. Then they've got full internationals sitting on the bench too. And we all know they are looking for more signings too...

This is the thing that worries me the most, We have been linked with Johnson before (And Fernandez before he left for St Etienne) and he would most likely be a player we would start in our midfield.

See how far down the pecking order he is at Eastlands though, Thats depth and shows how the gap between sides like Wanderers (Mediocre Midtable) and Citeh (Top 4 Chasers) has grown.
