It fit all criteria for a red card, lunging, two feet and studs up, contact or not - it's a red.

Yes i'm a City fan...but there seems to be lots of red cards in the Prem lately. Does ruin games a bit.

That red ruined the game for me. It was a win but I would have prefered it against 11 players.

Fergie, Mancini, Kenny and Harry sitting in a pub. Kenny goes up and buys the first round of drinks. Mancini the second and Harry the third. Fergie's buys the next but Mancini complains "Where's mine?!" Fergie replies "Sorry pal, this is the fourth round and you're not in it.

Sick of Mancini's bleats about Rooney showing 'an imaginary red card' (Rooney says he was showing that it was 2 footed- thats besides thr point. I have seen that cheating Italian in 2 seperate games jumping off the bench and waving imgainary cards at the ref in an attempt to get someone sent off (think against Liverpool and Arsenal). For him to bleat is complete hypocracy and shows he is close to losing the plot

Mancini hasn't even been in the league a year and he's already established himself as the biggest whinging crybaby out of all the coaches.

I fail to see the problem with waving imaginary cards...it's far worse when a team's players surround a ref and aggressively yell in his face. But I agree, Mancini is whingeing A LOT.

I just don't see why such a big deal is made out of it when far worse offences are regularly committed. The media obsession with it has always seemed a bit over the top to me.

I am going to go out on a limb here by posting without checking facts, but Mancini has been manager of Man City for over 2 years now

English players go up to the ref and tell him to book someone/send them off, whereas foreign players tend to use the card signal.  I am not sure if this is because of the language barrier, or it is just the way those damn sneaky foreign types work.

Overall though, is one any worse than the other?

Well Mancini apparently waved the imaginary red again against Wigan!

He: - Claimed he did it because of Rooney a few weeks ago (despite having previous!)
- Says its totally acceptable for him to do it as he is on the sidelines

With Madman Mancini, the nuts Barlotelli and the Cancer-joking ex chief exective, life at Man City can never be dull!

Pressuring the official to make a decision in favor of one's team is just part of the game - so long as security concerns don't come up.  Or is the YF about to demand a "no jeering" policy about ref's decisions?

Can't believe that something so trivial is being discussed, rather than the upcoming Spurs/Citeh fixture.  Here's some inflammatory remarks from Lescott to get you going.

Lescott is one of 3/4 at City who only went for the money and is also very overrated.Just on that comment I would like to see City get dicked.

Passive-agressive much?  Let me respond in kind:  My apologies for changing the subject.

In other City news, Tevez to PSG seems to be off.  Elsewhere on the Guardian, a preview of this team's weekend fixture.

Found this clip. from 1981 about Malcolm Allison and John Bond at city. 6 parts, each one about 8 mins long. I enjoyed it as it gave me an insight into both these guys. You might like it too.Man City Part 1

So, City fans and fannettes. It seems likely that Mancini will, in desperation, swallow his pride, manhood and much credibility and invite Tevez back into the fold of the loving atmosphere at the Carrington Fight Club. So the question is: will you give Tevez (that selfi$h, lying, money grubbing, b@$t@#d) another chance? Or not, sod him?

Or... does it depend on whether the premiership is won, which you gotta admit, could still be a long wait.

City 2-0 down at home to Sporting Lisbon and its not even half time.
This is a huge shock and I would have bet big time on City to win by quite a few goals.

Suspicious result after the dicking Man U got today - Mancini wanted Man U to win so they didnt have an advantage over City by not having to play Europa League games, so now Man U are out maybe he's trying to level the playing field

I'm watching the game live on TV and City have got a good side out and I doubt your assessment as Mancini is going beserk.City would be desperate to win something.
I would hardly call 2-1 a dicking. Leggy2012-03-16 09:56:07

Fair enough, I'm following the score updates for this game so I can't really comment on the nature of the play - I was just low-key trolling! I still think Man U were dicked though. 2-1 might not be a massacre on the scoreboard but I was watching that game and they were completely outclassed. 21 shots to 4, and Bilbao looked a class above from start to finish
