ZM's review, as one might expect, is quite enlightening.

Still, I'm not sure how much this really tells us about the season.  Three of the old big four are in transition, and the last is in profound crisis.  But we knew that before a ball was kicked.  City's main challenge is consistency: they need to avoid "doing a Keegan". Stripes2011-10-24 10:38:42

I'm not quite sure how you figure our defense sucks?? OK so I'll admit we had a bad day today but so does every team and this doesn't mean our "defense sucks". I'd challenge any Premier League team to score three goals at Old Trafford this year.

All jokes aside, I think you have to look back and say that Fergie got it wrong today. You won't catch me saying that too often as he is a brilliant manager but Evans should never be playing in a game of this magnitude. I don't mind him being rotated in with Rio every now and then but today we simply should have had the best defense possible on the park. Pretty sickening to watch when Evans is out there and you have Jones and Vidic (reigning PL player of the year) on the sideline. To be fair, it was doomed right from the start.

Fair play to City though, if they want to spend 500 million in 3 seasons to get a glimpse of some silverware then thats up to them and I guess they're starting to see some reward. Silva is certainly a special player.

I think SAF needs to seriously consider spending in January even though historically he usually waits until the summer. A holding midfielder (in the de Jong mould) and a specialist right back are a must.

When I saw Evans walk out with Rio I said to my wife that these were the worst two cenetral defenfers at Utd and no way we would win. However, even after going 1 down I thought we had much more of the game(although we did not really look like scoring)
As soon as Evans got the red card I said 3/4 nil. It would have been if the players had been conservative instead of pushing on at all costs even when 3-1 down.
You can't play against any EPL like that, nevermind MC. I'm sure we will still be there in 29 games. As good as MC are I still reckon they will drop points.

Dont worry about chelsea fans, they're too busy throwing their toys out of the cot after their team got exactly what it deserved - well ok, in the first half QPR more than matched them, In the second half, QPR played like sh*t - but at least i am honest enough to admit it.

Man U fans, don't feel glum.

We (Burnley) got beaten 6-1 at home by Man City as well. It happens to the best of us. And look at where we are now

BTW, last team to beat Man U 6-1 was Burnley.

So pleased your happy. Obviously more so than the 3 points you got. That tells me you are still paranoid about Utd. Mind you I can sort of understand that. You have won SFA for years. Is it six/seven? And you will win nothing again this season. I sort of remember flogging you guys 8 something.
I am looking forward to your game this weekend.

Not sure why you'd 8-2 be an Arsenal fan because out of the last 7 matches we've 1-6.

After the 6-1 defeat, United's keeper De Gea attempted suicide by throwing himself in front of a train. Fortunately, it went through his legs.

- A special Manchester hotline has been set up for distraught United fans: 0161 616161.

- Manchester United's defence were at sixes and Evans.

- Manchester City have just gained a large number of new fans in the Chinese province of 'Sichuan'.

- Those '19' banners could come in handy now - if City could turn them upside down.

- United to win the second and third set?

- Coleen Rooney missed the game as she wanted to stay in and watch Six in the City.

I think you're right about the midfield.  There is loose talk about a move for Bruno.  There is even looser talk about SAF going in for Montolivo (nothing worth linking, honestly).

And before you ask, no, you can't have Tiote.

...

Unless you pay the asking price.

Arsenal have as much chance of being in the top four as Birkenhead have of playing in the ASB and you being the standout keeper.

Given that Arsenal are six points off the top four with 29 games to play, I'd say we have a very good chance of finishing in the top four and hence I'd take it as a compliment.

Haha fair point. Pity Birko can't actually play in the ASB, could be true if he changed it to Northern Prem

Good on you Buff, it's not personal.
Have actually had a personal guide around Highbury, seen the trophies, walked across the pitch. It was magic.

Boo hoo Paulm,I could care less what you think, but I was not mocking him.I was just making a point. As to what the Highbury comment was in aid of. Just to show that I am not an Arsenal 'hater' otherwise why would I have gone there.Unlike a few of the Arsenal supporters on this forum who hate anyone that does not support Arsenal.
Buffy has sworn at and abused be for years now and I usually laugh, so if you think I was mocking him then that is pretty tame compared to what I have recieved from him.
I'm sure he is big enough to look after himself.

Yep fair enough that probably. Felt pretty raw though a comment like that the day after we lost in the national under 19 final, especially as i helped warm up and prep our keeper during the tournament and he had a few mares in the final. But anyway, shake hands dust it off and move on shall we
