Yep. Carrick aside, the font 6 was full of attack-minded players and the team was simply unbalanced. Giggs and Young were never going to do enough defensive work behind a front 3 of Welbeck, Rooney, RVP.

Read somewhere that Utd have not won a game with Giggs in it this season. I just can't be bothered to check this out.

7 losses and 3 draws of 26 games (17 starts, 9 as a sub) in all competitions he has played for Utd this season. Utd have had 9 losses and 5 draws overall.

Not true.I am bored so i looked. He has started in a seven league games and three cup games that they have won.No surprise that, as they have won many games this season.

I did not believe it anyway. However good he was he should know that he is not pulling his weight and have the guts to retire now, and AF should also know better.

Was ashley young seriously playing in a midfield three? That's f*cked. Wouldnt rooney drop in there with Young out wide?

Just read somewhere that with 6 games to go last season, ManU needed 11 points to win the title. With 7 games to go now, ManU need 10 points to win it.

I assumed it was still a foregone conclusion despite the loss yesterday, but there is still work to do...

P.S. Please don't win it at the Emirates.

I doubt Utd will get any points away to you guys on the 28th of this month. I had already put us down to losing against City and Arsenal, so I'm really hoping that it will be the game against Chelsea on the 4th May.( hopefully we won't have lost twice more by then.)

I wish I had your confidence. Our results against you have been poor recently even when we're on a run of good form. The United game is the one game where I have picked us to lose.

we've got a mindf*ck when we play you guys, especially now you've got RVP i think. Earlier this season we looked like we were sh*tting bricks every time he touched it, particularly TV5, who should not start that game.

In saying that there's a bit of talk about ManU's struggles in big games , this was quite a good piece;

http://www.football365.com/f365-says/8627690/F365-Says

Although I'm not sure we can be considered a big game. Certainly not up there with Man City, Real Madrid and a high pressure FA Cup tie against Chelsea.

I'm sure you are kidding about not being a 'big game' because there is no doubt that it is and always will be.
Easy to say, but the Arsenal players have to forget about RVP , because it could effect their performance. Don't know the stats but pretty sure Utd have not been too great at Highbury/Emirates

van Persie turns to shit at the end of the season anyway, as gooners we know that and you're now finding that out.

Well, he did in his one season that he was fit for us anyway.

Another 3 points but hardly a game that did much for me. Not Utd.s fault but the way Stoke approched the game made it pretty boring.

One good thing was that Rooney was in the mid-field and where I reckon he will end up.Seven more points and it is all over. Pretty sure AF won't let this slip as he did last year.

Rooney does look very comfortable in midfield doesn't he, has all the attributes

With ManU's striking strength and midfield weaknesses, it does make for a nice fit

I wonder what Hodgson and the England set-up would make of it though? Should he move there permanently for ManU next season, would England follow suit or continue putting him up top?

Gotta admit a midfield three of Wilshere, Gerrard and Rooney would be pretty dynamic and dangerous as hell, though perhaps a little light defensively

That would be a good midfield. I don't think defensively it would matter as both Rooney & Gerrard could do that pretty well.

I reckon there are very few games where we've turned it on this season but look where we sit. Think there will be usual squad evolution again, but I return to THE question at end of last season - which remained unresolved - attacking central midfielder to replace Scholes (Giggs as a stop gap has got to stop), Anderson was hardly given a chance and Phil Jones is not the answer either. I though Kagawa would see more of that role than he has.

Carrick, Cleverley and Wazza as a midfield trio will do me with Kagawa as back up. RVP, Hernandez and Welbeck need more game time to gel and with Rooney in another role that could be allowed to happen more often. Think SAF will be looking for another striker to protect RVP a bit.

I think Valencia, Nani, Young will be reviewed and we'll see new wide players coming in, though Raphael could do ok as a stop gap.

Is Buttner the one to replace Evra? Possibly. I feel SAF will look to add to Vidic, Rio, Evans, Smalling, Jones - probably a fullback.

One striker, one midfielder and one defender? Thoughts?

Giggs has to go. Anderson has got an attitude problem and is too inconsistent. Jones has impressed  me (only lately)
I'm not sure Welbeck is the answer.Nani is the same as Anderson, and Young and Rio can go.Have not seen enough of Buttner. He is certainly aggressive.Valencia can be a match winner.
I agree, a striker a midfielder and a defender at least. 12 months ago I would have also said De Gea can leave but he has improved and as he is still very young will only get better.

I'm in agreement.

I'd even argue that wilshere would out-do those two defensively. He's a real box-to-box type and loves meaty challenges more than most. Hence the ankle issues... he's constantly getting clocked! everton this morning case and point.

If those three played together in midfield they would be completely interchange-able. Any of them could sit deep, tackle and distribute, or go box-to-box, or stay high in between the lines. Could be a very fluid trio.

Not that I should care about England's international side LOL

Not a great result but have to say West Ham played very well. At least a point means that we only need 6 points from 5 games. Hopefully 3 against Villa and then it could be at Arsenal or at home to Chelsea.

Although City have Spurs away this week so it could be all over very soon.

To right, to win the EPL/BPL is the main goal for any club in the Comp.
