Seems Rooney wants away to Bundesliga. Given the history between him and Moyes it'll be interesting to see how that one plays out. It has been 9 years at United for Wazza. Does seem the right time if he wants a Euro experience.

I think the key thing in any appointment for United is whether the person can adapt to the club's culture and ethos. As appealing as Mourinho might be on various levels, he wouldn't fit the culture.

Moyles on a 6 year contract. I will be very shocked if he is in charge at the start of the 15/16 season
I agree with FM. The question here isn't whether Moyes has got what it takes, the question is whether the current mgmt and Board of United have got what it takes. Despite all the talk of wanting continuity and stability as soon as the going gets just a little bit tough they are the ones who are most likely to blink and sack the manager.
Consider this - Moyes' 6 year contract is the same length of time it took Ferguson to win his first league title at United. Does anyone truly believe that Moyes will be given anything like the same leeway?
Legendary manager and I feel a bit sad that he is going. I've certainly never known united without him and he was a truly great adversary.
Moyes will under-perform relative to Fergie for sure. I actually think you guys are going to do an Arsenal over the next few years with top four finishes as you seek to spend very little (and pay back the debt your owners saddled you with, which is obviously very different to the Arsenal model but same tight-fistedness I am sure you can appreciate).

All the best to Moyes, although I doubt he will get the same amount of patience and trust as Fergie had.
It will be very interesting to see Man U without Ferguson at the helm.

Surprising (not so sure - statue, grandstand naming this last season) but swift managerial change to safe pair of hands Moyes, who will pleasantly surprise a few of us yet i reckon. Business done and dusted; now all the managerial talk is of more comings and goings at Chelsea, Wigan, Everton, Man City and probably more yet to be announced.
So, next on the agenda is Mr W. Rooney, who wants away. For whatever reason - and it could be one of many - I'd let him go and get best price. Thoughts?

If he wants to go then I would sell him. He is a fantastic player but to me he looks like he needs to trim down and the last few games he has only been OK. I think that he only has himself to blame as AF has always said no one person is bigger than the club and we all know what happened not that long ago. Have seen AF get rid of bigger names than Rooney before and you would not normally hear him say anything about players wanting to leave before or after a game, but he did this time. AF does not forgive easily.
For Rooney it's all ego. People saying he's all about the money but that's bollocks. He just wants to do what he wants and play 90 minutes. If he doesn't have his demands met under Moyes he will likely say something, when as that was not likely under SAF. If he wants to go then so be it, we have anough forwards now anyway and he's been playing in the midfield which isn't an area we're struggling with either.
Don't be surprised if Dortmund or Bayern Munich come in for him. Just a feeling he'd go there rather than Spain or Italy.

Perhaps Bayern if Guardiola likes him, but they do already have Mandzukic and Gomez. They were also sniffing around Giroud but bought Mandzukic instead, so they seem to like a big man up top who can head the ball. Not saying rooney can't do that, but he is a different type of player to the strikers they currently have.
I'd hazard a guess that Dortmund won't be interested. They don't pay enough wages and they don't tend to pay huge transfer fees for established stars either. They've got a bit of arsenal about them i.e. feeder club to the big clubs
I think Real Madrid or PSG would be most likely, perhaps Barca if they sell Villa and/or Fabregas, maybe Chelsea if he stays in England. Anywhere else probably isn't likely, or rooney would see as a step down. In reality the best thing for his career is probably to stay at ManU. But he's not always one for smart decisions I guess...
