How do United fans feel about 'The Special One'?

  • Is he already on borrowed time or will he be given plenty of time?
  • How important is the League Cup tomorrow vs City?
  • Have Zlatan and Pogba had enough time to bed in and are the missing Rooney more than they thought they would?

"...sure beats doin' stuff."

No

No, not important.

Would think he would be given at least one season, though seems like he will just throw money at the problem.

If Utd win it is important, if they lose it's not important.

Yes, enough time and not missing Rooney - missing Schweini :P

Can honestly see Utd board panicking, throwing money around with no sense of purpose, coaches getting sacked before they can implement their systems and each coach spending money on their type of player resulting in a hodge podge of players that don't fit a particular coaches system.

Chelsea game basically exemplified my own criticisms of current Manchester United affairs.

We all knew Mourinho parks the bus against big teams. So here we have a team with the likes of Fellaini starting with huge attacking talent, such as Mata, on the bench. Surprise surprise what happens when we go down early. But all the idiot United fans raving about Mourinho should have known better.

As predicted, Zlatan isn't that good and he now serves to keep Rashford out of his best position. Because Rashford is being played out of position, we no longer play Martial.

I'd kill to see 11 players (without Fellaini) in their best positions. I honestly don't think we've seen that since Sir Alex.

Carrick has a great game midweek and is benched for Fellaini. Mata also benched. Entertain me - other than United name the best team in the premier league Fellaini would start in... Sunderland perhaps? Seriously I think Fellaini is poison in this team. The occasional okayish performance keeps him around but covers up the fact that we should be aiming so much higher. Whenever you hear criticism of Fellaini whoever is defending him says the exact same line, "he's quite good at ____ and I think he still has a part to play." Well how about a midfielder that is also quite good at ____ but doesn't take 5 touches to turn around and pass the ball backwards.

Finally, we will never see the best of Pogba next to Fellaini. It is easy to criticise him given the transfer fee, but personally I do not blame him. We all know what kind of player Pogba is. He needs players like Carrick and Herrera next to him. People who can actually pass him the ball. Basically just not Fellaini.

Personally I'd kill to see this:

You've forgotten about Schweini and Mkhitaryan - possibly Blind over Smalling against certain teams.

I try not to think about Schweini. But yes if I were in charge he would absolutely still be in the mix. Probably Mourniho's silliest decision of his career.

Personally I don't actually know enough about Mikhi, having not really seen him play. But I imagine either him or Lingard on the RW? I just have a soft spot for Jesse.

Smalling cost us 3 goals against Chelsea-- Lingard is not good enough.

I watched BD last year and the Albanian would be better than 80% of what we have right now.

I'd probably agree with that as your best lineup, perhaps with an in-form Mikhataryan ahead of Lingard my only change.

With Ibrahamovic off the bench to add some bite in the 2nd half, that would  be pretty impressive I think.

Don't really back Mourinho to be the one who gets a line-up like that gelling though, if I'm honest. He does seem to rely on a high level of experience in most of his teams, including across the forward line.

Absolute fudgeing shambles.

Zlatan continually woeful and doesn't really add anything. Choked numerous times. Most importantly on the 89th minute.

Subs horrific. Mata was playing fantastic, probably our best player. Lingard was also playing well. Rashford easily our most likeliest chance of scoring. All subbed for the incompetent microphone, the pensioner and Memphis.

Clattenburg a complete bottler. Bottled the penalty. Bottled the cards. Generally incompetent. Fudge off.

I've said it before and today's game exemplified it, Mata is easily our most creative player - I'd like to see his stats for chances created this season - unfortunately our finishing has let us down too often. Even tho the Burnley keeper had the game of his life we should have scored. Frustrating.

Fuck this stupid game

Even if it was 1% of the supporters, it is not going to happen. Love this as it brings in all the bogins from other clubs that are just envious of the records Utd have.

Most of them will never know the success of their clubs will never get what Liverpool and Utd have achieved. in their lifetime

Hahahaha. This is priceless Legster. Most proper fans don't give a fudge what their club has won. They'll celebrate what their club does win and carry on supporting them regardless.

United fans really do carry on like a bunch of whiny spoiled babies don't they? Even though i despised him as a player, Keane was right. Most United fans just jump on them to gloat about their success as if it adds something to their meaningless lives. That and the prawn sandwich brigade comment are absolutely bang on.

So why are you so paranoid about what happens at Utd. Stick to your own miserable achievements and let us be happy with  ours.

Utter rubbish from you two (though it is expected from Buffy)

I don't know a single fan who wants to sack Mourinho and it's undoubtedly not the sentiment around the club at all.

The Mourniho out twitter account the article references a twitter account with 8,000 follows. Most of which won't even be United fans. Compare this to the 9.16M who follow the actual United twitter account and it's not even a tiny fraction. (0.08% actually)

tl;dr your comments do make you look like jealous children

Just to counter this. I know quite a few manu fans who want him out and some who never wanted him in the first place.

regarding the team and mou, I think his results/style of play better improve soon or "mou out" sentiment will only increase. whether you've won a gazillion titles or nothing for the past few years. you cant go to a big club and not deliver.

From what ive seen of the team this year, and i dont watch them through any tinted glasses, they seem frustrated that what they are doing just isnt working. Its already been a roller coaster season for the players, Zlatan started brighly, but now has dipped, Paul was expect to pay instant dividends from his huge fee and is really yet to hit is straps, though he has had glimpses. Rooney... well Rooney.

and as to why i come to this thread despite not loving the team in question, it is because i like football. i like to watch and to talk about football. if its my team thats playing then all the better, but if its not then thats fine to. but i dont get protective over it, I dont own the thread or own who can talk about any team. if you are finding yourself getting protective over who can and cant talk about teams, please just settle down and dont turn this into a mud flinging competition. I understand it is hard for some fans who are used to having a successful team and now it isn't, but that is part and parcel of being a fan of a team. just accept it and move on.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

I personally had reservations about him coming but not getting results wasn't one of them. I doubted he would bring through youth and would rotate the squad enough to keep everyone happy.

So far, he has played Fosu Mensah in a couple of games, is starting Rashford and was pictured at the under 15 games.

But he has dropped Schweinsteiger and has not played Depay, Mkhitarian or Scheiderlin much at all. In saying that, he is rotating more than he ever did at Chelsea.

In relation to the current form, I think he is potentially over thinking the whole thing and trying to out-coach teams when most of the games, you just need to let the players get out there and they will do the job. Find some style that works and stick to it (unless circumstances require, like the Lpool game).

He doesn't know his best team yet and I really hope that Zlatan gets the same treatment as Rooney (by both him and the media). He hasn't scored in like 7 games or something and Rooney got dropped on form, so Zlatan should too. Might do him good, and Rooney might be good to come in now too.

Its pretty clear Mata is playing well in the CAM spot and Pogba plays better deeper so he gets involved more and that needs to continue. Lets hope Darmian and Scheiderlin (or whoever comes in for Herrera) can play well too. Goals have been the problem at United for a while so

Bournemouth should not be a benchmark by any stretch, but it was obvious on that day, Mourinho just let the team go out and play. More of this please.
