Players I loved as they were the ones I saw when I first began watching football instead of just playing it:

Patrick Kluivert
Diego Forlan
Nuno Gomes

Will have to be my own team: Pat Jennings and Steve Perryman.

One of my most admired players is Liam Brady (only fault was his choice of teams - as a result could never "love" him).

Edit: And of course for internationals - Socrates and myself.

Pavel Nedved, Paolo Maldini, Fat Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Gigi Buffon. They're probably my top 5 players i like outside of clubs i support.

Three for me, and two for them.

I like your logic... so to copy you, my faves would be;

Romario
Hristo Stoichkov
Tomas Brolin
Georghe Hagi

You may have guessed that i became hooked during the '94 world cup... but I hated Italy hence no Baggio etc

But players I love who aren't gunners or former gunners would have to be:
Zinedine Zidane
Oliver Kahn
Miroslav Klose and pretty much the whole German team.
Ryan Nelsen
Ilhan Mansiz
Alessandro del Piero
Paolo Maldini
Raul Gonzalez
Luis Figo
Landon Donovan

Guy walks into a bar in London with a dog.
Tells the barman " If I get the dog to talk will you give me a pint."
'OK' says the BM
Man points upwards and says "Whats that" Dog says "Roof"
The unimpressed BM hands over a pint and bets the guy he cant answer another question.
The guy takes a piece of sandpaper out of his pocket and rubbing it on the dogs paw says, "How's that feel"? Dog says "Rough"
BM says, let me ask the question. HERE COMES THE REASON THIS IS ON THIS THREAD. "Who was your favourite player of the 70's. "Dog answers "Cruyff"
Dog and owner finish up in the gutter outside and the dog says to the owner, "Do you think I should have said Bobby Moore"?

Pat is a true yiddo. He did not do a Sol. You guys got him on the cheap cos our management thought he didn't have long to go (and we got relegated). Just another management f*ck up.

Pat still does stuff for the Spurs Academy.

Much as I want Ifill's babies (sorry Elle), I'd pay to have a womb so that I could have lots of little Pats (actually they'd be quite big if they were his).

Pat Jennings was one of my dads favourite players. He always told me about him and how he saw him score once from a kick from his hands and also live at the 82 World Cup.

Three for me, and two for them.

Apart from anyone in a tangerine shirt?

Seamus Coleman, Messi, and in a grudgingly admiring the spoilt whining little brat that gets all the
attention and everyone else seems to go into paroxysms of ecstatic pleasure about every time
s/he turns on that cynical, well- rehearsed I can-get-what-I-want smile , sort of way....
Ronaldo (the lad can kick a ball)

and from a different era Gordon Banks , Nobby Stiles, George Best

and from a different Galaxy ...Yoda (mmmmmhh, kick ball must you) who had a stellar career
for the Presidents 11 Fc until THAT tackle from behind by the Dark Lord with the light sabre
(all the technology in the F***ing universe and Howard Webb still didn't see anything)

PAST; John Chiedozie, Nandor Hidegkuti, George Best, Robin Friday, Matthias Sindelar, Oleg Blokhin, Alan Hudson, Laurie Cunningham, Lev Yashin, Johan Cruyff, Ferenc Puskas, Rodney Marsh, Frank Worthington, Rinat Dasaev, Duncan McKenzie, and, of course, Pele.
PRESENT; Adel Taarabt, Alex Revell, but virtually all Premiership players are very hard to like.
