Funniest thing is that it was a Liverpool beach ball hit there by a Liverpool fan. AND they caught him on video and showed him on TV.

Its no longer a problem.

I genuinely feel sorry for the poor kid. He will have to move schools, his family will probably have to leave Liverpool. He was obviously a huge pool fan so imagine how he feels knowing he was partially responsible for their loss (the large proportion of the blame lays squarely on the pool players for being utter crap for 97 minutes)

This is ridiculous. What beach ball in their right mind would move from one cold city to an equally cold city without beaches at that? Anyway, i heard the beach ball is a free agent and is looking for sun, sea, sand and shopping(for Mrs B).Gold Coast are believed to be ready to make an offer. sanday2009-10-20 07:12:14

Exactly. Stupid that the goal was allowed to stand, crazy in fact, but we still had 92 minutes to get a goal and, quite frankly, we were lucky it wasn't two or three nil. That's crazy money from City, mind. I reckon he's past his peak.

I hope they leave the kid alone I bet all those around him laughed their arses off at the ball being on the field (well until the goal was allowed to stand) as it was it was on the field long enough for someone to get rid of it how the f**k does 50 stewards and 4 officials miss a giant red ball in the middle of the six yard box
still it proves your nothing more than a two man team (the loss I mean) giddyup2009-10-20 18:09:38

Was the first time I've ever seen a pair of balls in the Liverpool box.

Beach balls have been sold out on the Liverpool website, apparently there are plans for United fans this weekend to offer up a Darren Bent tribute. Shame Liverpool officials will be searching them for evidence of beach going gear!

And rightfully so.

How many refs get stood down for a while every week that we just don't hear about?
