I think he's an excellent player who gets unfair press solely due to his height and appearance. If he was 7 inches shorter everyone would comment on his goals/games ratio and his finishing and say how good he was, but because he doesn't look like a typical footballer he gets a lot of ignorant people criticising him. Unfair. That hattrick he got a month or so back for Liverpool was absolutely world class.

Good player, a BIT overrated. Runs like a headless giraffe. Good touch. Does well off the ball. Should bench for England.

Crouch is top quality, deserves more praise. Currently, I think he should be England starting line with Rooney. although AJ pushes him and Owen is getting back.

If it wasnt for his height i dont think hed score half of those goals. header after header. Ive seen some good ones but mostly...headers.

all those goals i just mentioned are with his feet- except one against arsenal.

As someone said on another forum, he can play like rubbish for 89 minutes and you wonder what the f**k he is doing...

you can't deny the ones ive mentioned are good players whether you like them (or their clubs) or not.

We just cant do it we cant comment on a liverpool player being half decent.

first saw him play in the World Cup and couldn't believe his style - tall, gangly, arms flying all over the place, legs so thin they looked like they'd break on contact

and the refs couldn't make out his playing style either, the number of times he got pulled up for fouls - which was more awkward-looking play than foul play.

I'm a red and still have some reservations about Crouch, but in saying that his record is pretty good in domestic games and incredibly impressive for England.

As said elsewhere in this thread, if he looked like an average footballer this question wouldn't even be asked.  Just because he is tall he is criticized, Gazza was fat but was a good footballer, Chartlon was bald and good, Best a pisshead and good.

To knock him for scoring goals with his head is ridiculous, as it is part of the game, he certainly has a height advantage and why shouldn't he use that advantage.  That's like criticing fast players for converting one-on-ones or keepers for being agile.  Anyway Crouch is nothing special in the air anyway, he does his best work on the deck.

He came on loan to Norwich and helped them win the last Division One title in 2004 before it became the championship the following season. I thought he was ok and I don't care if he plays for England cos I'm not interested. If he played for New Zealand I'd be interested.

Crouch should have started against Milan. He does well against most teams defences because he wins the ball and sets up the likes of Gerrard and Kuyt. Defenders come in to close him down and he lays off for another player. if the defence doesnt close him down, he takes his chances and his scoring rate is really good, considering alot of his appearances are not for the full 90 minutes.

bro do you even watch liverpools games? his heading sucks!!! (although I did note some improvement towards the end of last season.
