The bloke that is winning this poll world wide is Ryan Giggs. So much for this poll?

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Giggs

Average since 03. Wins everything these days by sympathy vote.

Isn't even the best winger of the decade.

Three for me, and two for them.

Viera out of those choices, The ciomplete defender whom scored a few and set up so many attacks with a telling pass.

Mr Consistent, delivers when need be, does everything very well. I'd have him over Ronaldo, Gerrard or anyone anyday.

So no, I completely disagree with you.

Plus he could easily be the most consistent over the entire decade.

If you scroll the the bottom of that ESPN page, you'll see Giggs in every analyst's team. And he doesn't make you poll?

Besides Ronaldo's glory year he very well should be the best winger of the decade.Michael2009-12-30 23:37:15

Heaps of Arsenal supporters on this forum for some reason so Henry or Viera will win. I picked Henry btw - who gives a sh*t about the hand ball, some of the stuff he did with his feet in the prem league was almost unexplainable.

You forgot Zidane and (suprisingly) Buffon, btw, who i'd have in over Keane and Bobby Pires.

Maybe a few million Irish...

When he is using his feet he is a very special player.

The single best winger ever to grace the Premiership.

Three for me, and two for them.

No bias there Buffon?

ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH

None whatsoever SB. No matter where you come from or who you support, there is no denying that Robert Pires was without doubt the finest winger England has seen since Stanley Matthews.

Three for me, and two for them.

Wayne Fereday in his time was recognised as the fastest player in the EPL  for  several seasons at QPR and Newcastle, he was skillful too.

Whatever you believe, this is player of the decade.

Which goes to Ryan Giggs.

The best player of the decade isn't even in the poll, so can't vote.

But here is a quick reminder why he was the best.

The best player in the Premiership, however, has to go to Henry.el grapadura2009-12-31 10:08:49

That's two people now who have suggested people outside of the Premiership, despite the title of the poll saying 'EPL player of the decade'. Does nobody read anything properly anymore???

Three for me, and two for them.

I was just thinking. What if you did the same poll with no players from the big four (Shearer excluded).

Robbie Keane. Paul Robinson. Gareth Barry. Kevin Nolan. Gareth Speed.

Those are the only 5 who have remained consistent at the top throughout the majority of this decade.

Three for me, and two for them.

Swap Brad Friedel or Shay Given for Robinson, who is absolute garbage, and nowhere near the top keepers in the Premiership over the last few decade. David James has been real good too.
Permalink Permalink

Given is the most overrated keeper in the Premiership. Nothing but an average shot stopper who makes the odd camera save here and there. James is a good shout, but often so inconsistent and still prone to the odd howler or two. Friedel has been very good all decade though.

Three for me, and two for them.

I was thinking Shay Given. Good call on Gareth Barry

While Robinson is a below-average shot stopper who's no stranger to howlers...

I'd take any of those three over Robinson any day. Shwarzer and Jaaskalainen have probably been better and more consistent over the decade than Robinson as well. Tim Howard too.el grapadura2009-12-31 12:40:24

Kevin Davies is a very hard working player who keeps his head down and has been a good servant for such a sh*te club like Bolton for many years now. So i fully agree.

Three for me, and two for them.

Where's Dennis?
Permalink Permalink
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Unfortunately Dennis only played for half of the decade, and in several of those years was winding down his career. Therefore he doesn't merit inclusion into this list, despite being a fantastic player, one of the best to grace the Premiership in fact.

Three for me, and two for them.

Dennis did retired in 06.However if you compare to when some of the others in the list quit the epl-
