Megson is my pick, closely followed by Benitez. Roy Hodgson might be worried too if Fulham start poorly, he spent (for Fulham) a King's ransom this summer.

Oh and what would bring this sacking about SB?

Can't see him getting the sack for the life of me let alone being the first.

Three for me, and two for them.

Its been awhile since we've had any silverware. You can only "rebuild" for so long before owners get pissy! Personally i'm happy with it, but from a managers perspective your team isn't earning you any bragging rights at the prem league owners club

I took this thread as being "first manager to leave a job" rather than get the boot. These days it can be hard to tell if he jumped or was pushed. I mean what does "mutual consent" actually imply?
"We want you to leave because you are a sh*t manager."
"OK, I agree."
If Wenger was to depart The Emirates, then I'm sure it would be his own decision.

Southgate and Megson will be the first out of the Premeirship managers, I'm not sure how quick those promoted teams will be with the axe though. Have to wait and see

stink,I said he'd be first sacked, not first to walk.

still most hammers fans won't be to upset by him leaving will they ??

I think they might. Curbishley was doing a good job with the resources he had, and when the board starts selling those resources out from under him, I think he found his position untenable. I don't believe there is any chance in hell the Hammers are going to get Bilic from Croatia to join them, especially not when he is about to embark on a WC qualifying campaign,

I'm not saying he did a bad job, not at all,  i'm just saying he wasn't the most popular manager with the fans that's all, thus not too many hammers fans will be that upset at him leaving.

Why weren't the fans happy with him? He saved them from relegation a few years back with Tevez and almost won them the FA Cup. Is it more his personality?

Actually it was Pardew who got us to the final. Interestingly enough, Curbishley was just winning the fans over as they realised that the players that had been missing were actually quality, and that there was a certain amount of sympathy for a manager who was having players bought and sold without his consent. Curbishley is quoted this morning as saying that it was part of his agreement with the board tht he would have total control of the comings and goings. This indicates that the board have breached their own contract. A resent poll on KUMB (Knees Up Mother Brown) Website which is one of WestHams strongest sites, indicated 90% support from fans for Curbishley. The anti feeling is something that has been stirred up by the media who are still pissed off with the way we got away with Tevezgate.

Money isnt everything in football is it.

True, but nobody's ever really sacked, they just "decide" to walk.

Thanks for correcting me uiron. I was only quoting what was said on Radio Sport this morning and I didn't think Curbs was there for the FA Cup. I heard that he had said that he wouldn't sell players that were important to the squad and before he knows it, Ferdinand and McCartney had been sold from underneath him. Fair enough I guess. Who would want to stay under those circumstances.
Bit of a shame really.
I'm surprised Miles Davis isn't registered on here giving us his opinion.

I was at Upton Park on Saturday, and heard "Alan Curbishley's claret and blue army" from the fans for apparently the first time in a while.  Proof that the fans were getting back on Curbs' side.

I sat two rows behind the directors box and would have thrown a bit of sh*t down on them if I knew what was coming.

hardly any, compared to how it used to be.  There was a bit of banter ("Judas, whats the score?") but none of the downright abuse ("I hope you break your spine you judas c**t.  I will kill you and your next door neighbours").

Just to clarify, a lot of the stick he gets is not because of the shirt photo, but for the game a week or so later when we played Stoke.  The deal with Man United had (at the time) fallen through, and he just sulked.  He didn't leave the centre circle for the 50 minutes or so he was on, and spent most of the time just standing there with his hands on his hips.

That is what f**ks off hammers fans more than anything - the fact that he pulled on a west ham shirt and didn't try.

PS I have realised as typing this that I made a career standing in the centre circle with my hands on my hips, but we are different types of players.

How about that. I was at Upton Park too on Saturday. In the East Stand right on the half way line. We must have been eye balling each other.
I liked the Ince chant, Fat Eddie Murphy, your just a fat Eddie Murphy
I was in London for my daughters wedding. She married a Blackburn supporter. He had tickets in the Blackburn area and left when they went 3 - 1 down. My daughter and wife were in the stand above you. Bloody hard getting tickets for one off games. We went to the East Ham Workingmens Club after until the crowd cleared. Then went home and chatted to my son in law.

To be completely honest, i sorta do...sure he's got an unlimited transfer kitty, but top four or gonski? bit harsh if that does end up being the case (which, sadly, i think will happen as i predict them finishing 5th).

Isn't Ince looking fat these days? I mean, I'm no anorexic myself, but then I didn't play over 50 games for England quite recently.
Or over 0 games, for that matter.

Oh, and well done LG, for picking both of the first two out of a job.
What odds on Curbishley to take over at Toon and Keegan at Upton Park?
