la la la la la. so much wrong with what you say there. but you're a united fan so of course you want him to stay with us. he's a moron who doesn't have a clue about our club. hodgson out.

I don't care if he stays or goes. I am not interested in Perennial strugglers Liverpool. The comments I made were purley netural.

how does hodgson 'not have a clue about our club'?

constant comments like that from pool fans have me puzzled. What's there to understand that's different from other clubs?

The only thing i can think of is that they were extremely successful over 20 years ago and now they're not

there are many things. Understanding the city, the club, the fans.. Football isn't just about what happens on the pitch. Its probably not fair for me to comment (having never been to the city) but I believe there is a real 'us against them' attitude in the city, resenting the more glamourous south, being working class etc etc. We expect the people who represent us to understand this. Rafa was a master at this, and was why he is loved by many 'Pool fans. he respected the club and its fans. He certainly never blamed the fans for distracting the players. Its difficult to understand as someone who doesn't support the club, but when we were literally fighting for our survival against the Yanks, thousands of people giving up their time, money and showing their love for the club, and the best he can do is serve up a shower of sh*te on the field and blame the protests against the owners, labelling them as a 'distraction'. In recent years, we've witnessed wins in the Nou Camp, San Siro, Bernabeu, Old Trafford etc, and he calls a win against Trabzonspor in Turkey (who, you might ask?) a 'famous victory', he called Northhampton 'formidable'. he doesn't represent the club well at all, his mindset is so midtable and thats just not where we expect to be, nor is it where we should be. ahhh, its too hot for me to put all this properly. maybe i will later, if i get bored. but basically his tactics, interviews and players aren't good enough for Perennial strugglers Liverpool Football Club.

some good points there EN

however if i can please nit-pick one thing -  the protests certainly would be a distraction for the players... fair point from roy there, can't see how all that business could be anything but distracting...

and it's important to note that the players are far from faultless in all of this - that's one thing you fellas consistently overlook

the majority of them have been absolute pants for the best part of two seasons now, regardless of the manager

First you blame the manager, things get desperate, you blame the owners, the sh*t hits the fan... its time to blame the players.

As fans you're giving the players an excuse to play sh*t: Blame roy.Michael2011-01-07 16:49:35

Of course, but maybe (just a thought) the players don't play well because the systems aren't right. How is a player like Torres ever supposed to be at his best when the way the team is set up is 20 yards further back than it was when he was scoring goals for fun? A long hoof up field to Nando isn't playing to his strengths, just as the Spanish possession isn't. Stevie isn't a good central midfielder. Kuyt's pressing is never going to work when we sit back in our own half for most of the game. Johnson's terrible defending is going to be exposed more, and he isn't going to get as much cover for it as well. They're good players, not great mostly, but good enough to be higher in the League.

However, I agree, this whole player power thing is fked up. Stevie and Carra vs Torres and Reina kind of thing. I agree, they could put in more effort, but I don't blame the players nearly as much as I blame Roy. Hodgson isn't tactically near the Wenger's, the Rafa's and the Mourinho's of the world, so why should we trust him to take the club further? We aren't going to improve under him.

Yeah, it may be distracting, but why would you even say that? Thats kinda what I'm saying, he doesn't really get what it all means to the club and to the people. Rafa gave his job up fighting against them, and he uses it as an excuse to losing to Northhampton.

Clearly as I am not a Perennial strugglers Liverpool supporter my view doesn't count here but I agree with Leggy. You could do a lot worse than Hodgson and you probably will! As for your squad - full of pretty average players.
