Monday sees Spurs take on Chelsea for a shot at a trophy, after many a disappointing season, we've got a shot at beating two london rivals to take out a prize, albeit the carling cup but come on, silverware is silverware.

Need a Pension?... Are you worried about the future? Let's face it, we're not getting any younger and we all have to think about our lavish lifestyles, after our careers are over. Are you over 33? Are you well past your best?

Are you looking for an easy life? Yes? Then You Are Eligible For the Spurs Life Plan!! Spurs pay you 30,000 a week, there's a pointless medical, and no sales person will call (well you might get a shot in the private plane). CALL NOW! There's a FREE house, luxury car and limitless golf at some of England's finest courses.

Don't take our word for it, read these recommendations by some of our satisfied clients;

"When I'm no longer playing, I know my family will be financially secure" Gus, London.

"I recommend the Spurs Life Plan to all my family" Christian, London.

"The Spurs plan supplemented my pension, just when I thought it was too late" Dean R London.

"The generosity of the Spurs plan is unmatched in the world of pension finance. It was the best move we ever made" Jamie and Louise, Essex.

"Even when everyone said I was too old, Spurs were prepared to supplement my pension with an outrageous offer" Mauricio, Buenos Aires.

"Despite being permanently injured, I was still eligible for the Life Plan -year after year" Darren, Watford.

"Tottingham is for me doing it" Ossie, Swindon.

So don't sit there worrying about the future-RELAX-That phone will ring!! Spurs life plan is regulated by D Levy and his pals at the bank, and is funded by the 30,000 who have invested in the "THFC Season Ticket" pyramid scam over the last 10 years.

The only problem with spurs is they rate themselves sooooo much and they are soooo crap. Every year they buy a sh*te load of players who are average and perform pants. If only they bought some decent quality players to complement the local talent.

Spurs last trophy was earned by famous former arsenal manager George Graham. They might just get one without arsenal's help this time...

Gotta leave the north london nest some time i guess...

That's what happens to a second top 5 team - finishes between 5th & 10th most seasons or lower.

Could be an interesting game.  Having won it twice in recent seasons, I wonder how "up for it" the Chelsea boys will be.  If we have an off day Spurs just could be in luck. God, I hope not though.  Come on you BLUES!!!

it was nice that Chelsea lost.

It was just a shame that Spuds couldn't lose as well.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked

I caught the score on the scrolling bar on Breakfast. As soon as I saw spurs had scored 2 I knew Chelsea must have lost.

Agreed with Frankie, I wanted both to lose.

JDR has done well with jenas in particular and the side as a whole worked well together

no doubt Harry Hotspur will add a more lyrical review

Well done Spurs, played way better than Chelsea. Cech kept Chelsea in the game again. Poor all-round display from the Chelsea team, except for the last 15 minutes of extra time when they finally started playing. Why Joe Cole did not start this match was big mistake!!!!!.

I had a bad feeling about this one.  After winning seven finals in a row since 97 (three FA Cups, three Carling Cups, one Cup Winners Cup - count em and weep) we were long overdue to lose one.  I didn't even bother to get up early which tells you a lot.

Spurs deserved it by all accounts.  It will mean way more to them than us as we have much bigger fish to fry this season.  Hopefully a kick up the arse for our guys.  Will probably be the end of Spurs season!

Superb,
while anyone may ridicule the Carling Cup, silverware for spurs is the ideal way to get the team back on track. Inspirationally led by Ledley King (who should be a main stay in the English team) and Jonny Woodgate, we totally outplayed the Blues. Surprising that Avram Grant has instilled this "attacking football" into Chelsea's game....looked exactly like Joses team out there today.
Simply feels great to bag a trophy, bigger things will follow from here.

Saw the goals on the news, robinson is becoming a worry. he's right off form this season. Thank God the defence is reasonably solid.

seems a bit casual to judge robinson on the goals LG  - he only let one in!! (and that was Keane's fault for getting out of the way of the ball)

robinson pulled of a couple (well at least one) crucial saves and apart from one flap seemed reliable (all history put to one side )

I judge it on the various reports for this season as well as what I have seen. A great keeper, better than calamity james, but not playing as well as he has in past seasons.

both of your posts are more subdued than i thought they'd be , are you still in shock??

agree re spurs putting pressure on the ball carrier all over the pitch - Zokora played a classic midfield spoilers game (in the best sense of the phrase)

again, i was impressed with Jenas's influence - good for England if he continues to develop

Berbatov  -class as always, and lennon a threat in the second half

centre backs did v well against a formidable front pair

hope you are wrong about King's ongoing injury risk

as a rangers/chelsea/phoenix/team welly fan.....congragulations tottenham, the better team won, i am gutted chelsea didnt win, you have a good manager in ramos and i would not rule out spurs winnning the UEFA Cup as ramos is a cup expert, he may be rubbish in the league but he has won 5 cups in a trot (4 back to back in spain), tells you a lot about the guy.

i hope we pick ourselves up and qualify for the q-finals of the champs league and WIN IT!!

Out of all the competitions we are left in I hope we go for gold in the champs league and prem league..

How Avram Grant got this job - a clueless bumbler who happened to inherit a team of great players. At least Gus Poyet was a Chelsea man.Grant should follow his lead, at both full time and extra time break Gus Poyet could be seen rushing around the spurs players issuing instructions, motivating , instilling a sense of urgency and determination to win. Mr Grant sulked around the margins of his assembled players, expressionless and silent not knowing what to say.
Avram Grant has no idea what attacking football is about, maybe Roman will finally see it to.

Not sure what makes you say that but I'll put it down to the same sort of pessimism that suggested we weren't going to qualify for the CL this year.

3 points clear at the top of the table.

What kind of moronic comment is that? We're still 3 points clear with 11 games to go, hardly a 1 horse race.

Don't let who you support cloud your judgement when it comes to football lad.

Woodgate was immense, stayed up to see it live, Felt extremely sorry for Jol when he left, but as soon as that final whistle went it was Martin who? It was common knowledge that Spurs needed to sure up their defensive stocks during January and Ramos has done just that with Hutton and Woodgate. Once Bale recovers from injury,we will have a competent back four. Good to hear they dedicated the win to Gazza at this difficult time in his life.

Eh? I was at the Lane last Thursday for the game against Prague. Robinson was superb for the whole game. . .  Last night he kept us in it with the save in the last minutes. . .. .

Back to topic:

Great win for the lads last night. Unfortunately I was on a plane flying back from Germany where I saw VFB Stuttgart give the "arschlocher aus Karlsruhe" a good 3 - 1 hiding, so I didn't get to see the Carling Cup game. . .
