Since the super 14 started the amount of EPL games that are on Sky on Sunday morning has dropped so much.

The 30 minutes highlights show they have on the sprts highlight channel had s14, netball, NRL, UK league all on before they could be bothered to show any of the premiership league at 2.30pm and I'm not talking about 4.30am live coverage.
It just seems to me that they put the highlights / replays of epl games on as a last resort.
What does everyone else think of the sky treatment of the World Game & EPL.
I think it sucks.

i thinkk other than the highlights your wrong.
the highlights could be shown moreoften and earlier but at least they are shown.
the live/straight replays are still on and some sunday mornings it 4 on the trot!then both monday games are shown.
who do you suport as this can be a problem, as the big four are shown more often than other teams

Sky uses football to:
1- Creating good adverts where Rugby tries just aren't exciting enough, but a football goal is needed.
2- To fill in gaps Rugby can't take up.
I don't see why its so hard for them to just create another channel and shove content on it.

Then they show EPL ads with Champs league goals.

EPL Coverage? Luxury!
It seems a shame they can't put Championship games on from time to time as they do on Fox Sports in Oz. No sign of play-off finals either.
But I think football does seem to get a little shabbily treated - reeks of not much knowledge of the game in the channel itself.

Surely there is a market for a Football Channel on Sky?

The things that come to mind for me with a dedicated Football Channel are
-They would charge extra for a football channel,
-I doubt it would it be HD (SS3 is sh*te on my HD tv)
I think we get a pretty good coverage of football

sky has little say it the EPL coverage they get. they purchase a broadcast package from them at the start of the season, and show the games they are given. admittedly while the S14, NRL, NPC are on, they show fewer replays.

Yeah the coverage has to be HD or it looks like rubbish. I think coverage has been good this season.

It would be great to see a Football channel

think about me..there is basically no Italian football shown on sky (espn). All they show is a handful of games involving AC Milan, Inter or Juve. That's all.
On days when, say AS Roma v Lazio is on, they'd rather play Lecce-Livorno believe it or not!
It's a shame. I can't even get sky Italy down under because they don't have the rights to show Italian football overseas.
It's ridiculous that with today's technology we still have to rely on tv channels to watch some sport and there is hardly any choice.

Could be worse. At least the giallorossi aren't in Serie C1

To be honest, we get quite a bit of Italian football here - I'd say 3-4 games per weekend at least. That's pretty good for a country on the other side of the world with a fairly negligable following of Italian football. Sure Inter/Milan/Juve games get shown more often (actually, pretty much every week), but that's the commercial reality of TV football.
And further, the AS Roma v. Lazio derby was shown here just the other week, I believe both live and as a replay. I know because I saw the replay...

Is right. 4-2, no? Something like that. With the red cards? I think they show quite a bit of Italian and Spanish football on espn, and the Prem games that are shown are loads, most of the round.
I despise the highlights channel though. They show 2 minutes before and after each goals and thats about it!

Obviously the Man U fan thinks there is enough - when there is one of their games on every week!! Yawn.....

Just out of interest, how many different teams do you 'support'?
I guess what sparked my interest was you posting about an Italian team, with a Toronto logo in your avatar, on a Phoenix forum, of which you post in the Everton thread, and have a byline asking for a new Aussie team.

No Man Utd fan has said that. I personally have always maintained the opposite. :l

It's only really three - Nix, Hellas Verona and Everton.
TFC is in my logo because the A-League offseason has me following MLS more than any other league. I've got links to Canada and am looking at moving there, so TFC is my team by default.
South Coast is hometown loyalty more than anything else. I mostly just want my home region to get an A-League club other than Sydney FC, although I'll always support the Phoenix ahead of them.

We do get every Man Unt game live.
We also get EVERY EPL game live.Sky NZ has access to the same games that are shown in Oz, they just choose not to show them.
If it was rugby, it would be a different story.
