It did look like they were covered up. Wonder why?

Their shirt sponsor 'XL' went into liquidation or something similar, so they took it off the shirt.
Three for me, and two for them.

Glad to see they did there best to cover it up by using patches that match the team colours...

Still not as bad as Hull having to borrow Newcastle's shorts and socks

I noticed West Brom don't have a sponsor, would have thought a bunch of companies with money would be keen for a Premier League team to back. Although, maybe they have a no sponsor policy like Barcelona...

yeah i was just gonna say that AIG might be going down. heard they took a 40 million dollar loan just to stay afloat so don't know how they're paying to sponsor united.

Damn it beat me to it, at 2am!!!
They sought US$40billion, but they got $20b and stocks are still dropping.

i feel safe knowing the name on our shirts is that of an electronics company, rather than some bank or insurance company. then again, in todays hectic economic conditions i guess no one can feel safe.

Man U may have found a standby sponsor for their shirts just in case. Durex - because the jersy's are full of pricks??
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

An electronics company based in Asia too, which helps.

i like your thinking there gunmen, although i do feel sorry for the west ham and manc united fans who have already forked out for the kit, ok maybe just the ham fans.

In all serious, I agree with you. Yet again the fans pay and jersys are not cheap. I don't think Man U will suffer too much and it could be a bit of a bun fight considering they are current Champions of everything - Well almost everything. But West Ham might struggle to get a replacement.
I think both clubs will be preparing to write off a lot of unsold product just in case worse case scenario.

At least Celtic will be safe...
Everyone will be drowning their economic sorrows with some Carling lager. There is no chance Carling can have any problems.
Also even if AIG go under, 100s of other sponsors will be lining up to sponsor Man United.
