Tonight @ 1:40. Spurs have hit a patch of form and desperately need points, should be a great match.

Arsenal bids to go clear with Spurs win

Arsenal can edge clear of closest rivals Manchester United at the top of the English Premier League this weekend by beating North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.

With United not taking on Everton until Sunday, Arsenal can go four points clear with a win, but Juande Ramos's Spurs side have picked up of late and will make life difficult.

Three wins in a row have lifted confidence at the club and Ramos has also moved to ensure that Dimitar Berbatov, his star striker, stays at the club.

"There is no chance Berbatov will leave in January," Ramos told The Sun on Thursday.

"On the contrary, we need Berbatov because if we want to reach our objectives we need a player of his class."

Arsenal may have lost at Middlesbrough last weekend - and with it their unbeaten league run - but they have not been beaten at home by Spurs since the last day of the 1992-93 season.

"What makes me laugh is the way Tottenham always celebrate whenever they get a draw against us. I would like to remind them that once again they have not made the Champions League. So I was amazed to see their reaction at the full-time whistle. I had to look twice at the score on the TV because I thought they had won it the way they were celebrating.

When I celebrated my equaliser against them at home last season I did so because the goal had a meaning. It turned out to be an important goal in the race for fourth place. I wasnt going to celebrate just because we drew against Tottenham. It was the same when we won the league there in 2004. They equalised to make it 2-2 that day and when I saw Taricco celebrate so much that he injured himself, I said to him you do realise we only needed a point and now we are celebrating the title on your ground.

Great derby. Forgettable 1st half but it was all action in the 2nd. Keane misses a penalty when commentator David Pleat keeps repeating "he never misses a penalty" just before he takes it. Great save by Almunia. Wenger then brings on Bendtnerwho scores the winner with his first touch. Watch for the backheel from Cesc for Adebayors first goal as well. Class.

Within 5 minutes i went from throwing bottles around the room and punching the pantry door in to jumping up and down like a madman screaming 'YEEEAASSSSS!!!!'. Great to be able to have the freedom to act however you want during a match when you have the house to yourself

Now, onto the game. Almunia you bloody legend!!!! Fantastic penalty save the only thing that slighty hindered it was the camera panning to Sad Jens on the bench with the commentator stating the bloody obvious "He doesn't seem like a team player does he?" No sh*t!

Wenger showed his genius once again by bringing on Bendtner who scored the winner with his 1st touch, don't get much better substitutions than that.

Top of the league at xmas and you know who the last side to win the league being top at xmas was don't ya?

f**k that was intense!

Brilliant back-heel to set up Ade, who coolly slotted home. Then the Bendtner super-sub - first touch header!

I can't express how ecstatic I was when Keane f**ked up. And the commentator's curse: "I'll categorically state that Keane will not miss this penalty". What a massive c**t!

That is what football is all about.

4 points clear, let's hope Manure drop some tonight.

I was shocked to not see RvP too, not even on the bench, especially as Theo is our only listed injury atm.

Edit: RvP picked up a small knock late in the piece, apparently.

Top save by Almunia, gotta hate that Sp*rs-loving C*nt David Pleat for his quote "Robbie Keane does not miss these"

Looking forward, we need wins away at Portsmouth and Everton pre-NYE (neither will be easy).

If we are still top of the league by then, I'll be an even happier Gooner.

Just watched that hitler clip, god that was funny. Great stuff.

Was an exciting game to watch - loved it when keane screwed up and we scored almost immediately. And I could watch ade's goal all day, great team stuff, we are certainly a class act.

There's something about spurs now, they can't beat us even when they look like doing it. It was beautiful putting them through that pain.
