Agree with Paul's lineup, cant help but think Spurs will attack like buggery to get a goal and then shut up shop. This approach has proved to work against us this season.

WHL will be septic as, unlike last season there is an enhanced belief they will finish ahead of us, time will tell though...

Spurs / buggery. Missed this before, well done Skinny.

Had you been playing before Utd, that would not have been the case.

Not necessarily. You watched how that red card changed everything. What is to stop Bayern from having a moment of madness and having their lead overhauled? It's only 2 goals.

However I do agree it's a long shot ;-)

Any idea why Podolski isn't starting at present? If he wants Santi & Walcott on the wings why not play him through the middle and give Giroud some competition?

What is up with our youth players heading to the championship and doing their ACL! Same thing happened to Frimpong too.

Win our game in hand against Everton and we will be only four points behind sp*rs with nine games to go (also a much better GD).

COME ON ARSENAL.

Pumped. $10 on the match for an $85 return. Wouldn't be a dumb move.
Paulm good read, and is sad to think that those two might not get a shot!

Schweinsteiger and Boateng suspended, Ribery out with injury, Robben in doubt.

Your thoughts?

I'm not sure if coming back is the best option, but I know for sure that he left a big whole in our midfield in terms of defensive abilities, strength, and cheeky assists. Plus he gave us an additional CB option to keep Squillaci further away from starting.

Sounds like an absolute load of shark to me. He is trying to get the fans back on side but I don't believe him.

I think he agitated for a departure from Arsenal, missed his opportunity at Barca, realised he is not good enough for them and is looking for an escape route. Not back to N5 thanks.

So Szy, Wilshire, Podolski, and Sagna have been left at home, Szy isn't injured just being rested. Hmmm. But Gibbs is back.

I'd be going for:

                      Fabianski

Jenkinson Koscielny* Vermalen Gibbs

            Arteta      Ramsey

                      Rosicky

Walcott        Giroud         Cazorla

*I think he's a better defender pace wise than BFG, however BFG has played against German competition before.

Dear Ubergunner,

Do you still work at the BB? If so, What's happening about the two jerseys I loaned. I've left it this long because I thought the BB would have much more important issues to resolve and then the second fire set it all back. Normally I'd have PM'd you but we can't do this on here now. NO, I am not angry, just wondering as they were collectors items from our 1983 promotion season. Please advise how I deal with this. Cheers and good luck in the morning.

Team named:

                        Fabianski

Jenkinson-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Gibbs

                   Arteta-Ramsey

            Walcott-Rosicky-Cazorla

                          Giroud

Daily Mail reported that we'd 'given up' because  walcott and cazorla would not be starting. LOL.

Robben passes fitness test to start for Bayern.

So I guess this means Vermaelen has actually been dropped? Bout time.

Well that was disappointing. That referee didn't decide the outcome of the game like the United one, but man was he awful. Consistantly awful mind you.

At least we went down fighting. Stupid away goals rule. They should change it to Home goals.

No Vermaelen, clean sheet in Munich, coincidence?

Kosc apparently defended well and he nabbed a goal to boot

TV5 on the bench at swansea please arsene.

Perhaps contact the Backbencher... UG is rarely if ever on here any more. And he may well not work there any more.

We weren't exactly stunning at the back, but I can't argue with this. Our worst aspect of our game was unforced errors, cheaply surrendering possession with wayward passess or being too easily dispossesed.

Credit where credit is due (or is this dis-credit?) - Bayern were terrible.  And in particular Robben was certainly revisiting his CL final night from last year.

Muller was more 'Muller Light' as the game went on.  Every time Lahm had the ball in the final third I was waiting for him to thread that final ball but that was a positive - we cut just about all of them down.  Even Messisacker was getting his boot in for last ditch blocks/deflections.  Kroos had quite a few shots from where he scored in the other tie but just couldn't convert.

Arteta = tired (but still with the best lego hair out there).

Now zen, I vill type zis only vonce:  Flappianski had a very solid game.  Did not put a foot wrong.  He did dive a lot for shots that were well off target though.  Symptomatic of someone that ain't playing a lot I guess.

Regret from this return fixture:  AOC and the Gerv should've appeared about 15 mins earlier in that second spell.  They certainly revved up our play when they came on.

Now to watch the Hotsp*rts drop some points and us to start a run by putting in a mighty shift over at Swansea.

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

Bad luck guys. Two nice goals and you had their fans sweating it. Shame as I'd like to see Arsenal win the trophy if only to shut a few plastic fans ups. (Waits to get flamed by them. I tell you, they have no sense of humour due to their guilty consicences)

Decent performance, not that it mattered in the end.

I just hope we take that form forward. And keep Vermaelen firmly out of the starting line up lol.

And from the one-man-team files, spurs left out bale this morn (not sure if injury or rest), and gallas just nabbed himself an oggie to make it 3-0 to Inter on the night, and 3-3 on aggregate.

ARF!

10 mins to go - this is win/win for us. If Spurs still make it their light squad should suffer from the fixture congestion, if they lose that's the 2nd on the bounce and their annual collapse would've started in earnest.

Not to mention the extra time...

Permalink Permalink
about 13 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History

They made it thanks to an away goal in extra time, losing 4-1 on the night, aggregate 4-4. I hate it that away goals count in extra time but that's a whole 'nother argument...

They've got Fulham on Monday morn. Chelsea are playing now, and they have Westham on Monday morn.

We're at Swansea on Sunday morn.

Tbf Inter got another 30 minutes at home, so both sides gain an extra advantage.

Three for me, and two for them.

Anybody else see the story in the British papers about how Szczesny and Vermaelen might be on their way out because they aren't too liked within the squad? Seemed a little far fetched but certainly interesting

Huge result, achieved with tired legs

For a good hour I thought it'd be one of those days, fortunately swansea didnt bring their best game either.

Huge from the lads to dig deep and get it done, the great spurs overhaul is on again!

Yep they are still around. I will check in the morning.

As for this mornings performance i was very happy with our ability to prevent Swansea even getting shots away. Im not sure but I think they had Zero on target. thats the first time in there PL history any team has done that to them if its accurate.
