Why no Gibbs? Personally I think he's a bit more solid defensively, and adds a little more pace going forward.

I'd also be tempted to start Rosicky over Wilshere in the hole, he's been in better form, but either way one of them off the bench has the potential to win matches. As does the Ox coming on with 20 to go against tired legs.

Additionally would you bring Vela back for one last crack?

I like monreal, think he combines well with cazorla on the left as well

we have two very good left backs

rosicky is a definite option in the hole, he was rusty last time out though - in saying that jack has been rusty of late as he's come back from injury too

Hmmm would have taken a point at the start of the day but the way we played in the first half hour we really should have had the game by then so it does feel like two points dropped.

Positives: Koscielny/Mertesacker defense, Rosicky and Ramsey in the middle.

Negatives: Podolski was useless upfront, Sagna awful all game.

This one is going to go right down to the wire...

yeah seems we have sorted our defensive worries out for next season, we still have issues up front, Podolski and Giroud are not as deadly in front of goal as we need. We really don't have any other options as the front man unless Walcott goes there, which for mine is a waste. I'll take a 1-1 result as long as we stay in the 4.

Sorry, can't let that one through foal. That would refer to clubs playing in blue.

As for letting things through, how was Walcott not called offside?!

Think he's referring to pre-2003 football when ManU were the biggest spenders of all.

The draw felt fair, but I'm disappointed still. Also slightly stoked calling the Gibbs and Rosicky start ;) Thought Rosicky was good and although Santi's shooting was on, his final ball and passing was off form.

Podolski doesn't seem to know how to turn, but he certainly didn't get much service.

Ox was energetic when he came on, but unfortunately not useful.

3 games left, highly likely that if Chelsea v Sp*rs draw, we end up drawing with them on points and claim 4th on G/D.

As it stands if Sp*rs win that game and the rest, and Chelsea win all but the Sp*rs game, we'd finish 1 point behind both of them, in 5th place, highly embarrassed.

The only thing we can take to heart is that Chelsea's last 4 league games, 3 are against top 6 opposition.

As Arsenal said...down to the wire.

Sagna was awful this morning, particularly his delivery into the box (as well as the penalty debacle of course).

Won't be surprised to see him let go if his demands are too high for a new contract. I still think we should sign him on as a CB to be honest. An astute fullback transfer just like the Monreal one would be great, to give Jenkinson some competition next season.

I don't blame Poldi for being virtually anonymous this morning, first run-out at striker since the first game of the season was it? Needs some time to work there. Timely goal for theo, he hadn't scored for ages.

Our midfield 3 were sensational. Once ramsey irons out the odd error from his game he really will be something, what an engine, and he's very clever with his defensive positioning. He and Arteta operate really well together. Both CBs awesome, Kosc in particular, he wasn't having any of rvp's tricks and flicks, imo he had him in his pocket all game - a far cry from vermaelen's dilly dallying at OT earlier this season.

Brumbys you were spot on with the gibbs and rosicky calls, both players were excellent.

Great to see our progression between the two ManU fixtures this season. Neither scoreline reflective of the game - they should've battered us at OT by more than just 2-1, and we should've rammed home our first-half dominance this morn and been out of sight. You can see our team has become used to playing together since then, bodes very well for next season with possibly only Sagna to depart It'll be our first season since 04/05 without significant squad changes. ManU's recent success owes a lot to their squad continuity, can't wait to see us finally hold a team together for more than a season.

I've been saying for a while that Chelsea are the favourites to miss out.

They've got Basel in 4 days time, Old Trafford 3 days after that, home to Spurs 3 days after that, then at Villa Park 3 days after that (and Villa will be fighting for their lives). They've got Everton a full week after that in their last game, but if they make the europa league final which they surely will, that will be squeezed into the final week too, meaning 4 days is their biggest gap without a game until the end of the season.

They aint makin' it unless Spurs royally screw things up (which we all know they're hilariously capable of too)

Watched a bit of the game this morning at work and we looked good in the first half. Seemed like we wanted the 50/50 balls a bit more than United did. My only regret was nearing the 40 minute mark and Ramsey broke through on a three on two situation and instead of passing right to an unmarked Walcott, he chose to play in Podolski who was drifting left. Theo would have been one on one with De Gea and I would have been confident in him scoring. Would have put us two up. Oh well, lots of "what ifs"

the 2 points that got away - we could have won it, in fact probably should have - no as with the last few seasons we rely on Totts or Chelsea to muck up their run home to give us 4th.

surely his front leg is putting him offside - some of the egg heads on here will know more but I thought that if any part of the body that you can score from (ie, anything except the arm) is beyond the last defender, then it is offside?

Thought the benefit goes with the attacker i.e. if part of his body is level or behind the last man then he is onside.

benefit is supposed to go with the attacker from the point of view of the linesperson - ie if they are not sure they should allow play to continue - but in terms of the law, it is clear.

Agreed. If you're holding the law up against a still image, he's offside. However a linesman doesn't get a still image, they get Walcott accelerating past the last defender, attempting to also watch when the ball was played to determine whether he was off. For my mind I think it could have gone either way, but it's definitely not a horrific off side goal that was painfully offside.

I thought it was clearly offside at the time but buffon's pic makes it look closer.

Need someone to confirm law as frankie says, but I thought it was the torso that was the key body part that needs to be in line? Could be talking sh*t though, I really don't know

Ubergunner used to clear this stuff up right away

He has some great insights there.
With QPR this weekend, I'd be inclined to push on with something like this:
                           Szy
Jenkinson Mertesacker Koscielny Monreal
                     Ramsey Coquellin
                           Rosicky
Walcott       Podolski           Gervinho

Chance to rest some of the squad a head of the tougher games, surely this one should be a little easier!

not sure if there is such a thing as a "easier"  game left for us to be honest mate :(. can't see coquellin get a run, he was really bad for the u21 from the match reports. i reckon wenger will keep putting out best 11 for the last 3 games, in saying that jenkinson and monreal could get a go.....can see santi being rested. I know walcott scored last week but he's seems to do f all for the rest of the game, hopefully next season Ox puts some heat on him for the starting spot. Really hoping we sneek into a champs league spot

I heard on Radio Sport last night that Wenger is rumoured to be going to PSG. I can't find anything to back it up so maybe its just the papers making up news.

It's too easy, Frenchman going to France's wealthiest club.

But it's not AW philosophy, he'd be going and spending big which is odd. Oh well, if he does go hopefully whoever we pick comes with the balls to spend some money.

Stories I've read suggest that the Adidas deal is still in negotiations and if its agreed to then we won't see the new shirt until the 2014/15 season.
