Dunno about SOS but as always plenty of "rumours" out there..

Lacazette (Lyon) ?

Callejon (Napoli) ?

Tis a bit of talk around about Lacazette. Apparently he 'liked' an article on FB linking him to us or something like that. Probably means nothing.

I don't know if this Ozcan guy can really claim a signing of the season given some of the names that have shifted around, but he does seem to know things about signings before they happen.

We certainly have to do something and can't just leave it at Cech anyway. I'm surprised by United's business so far. Schweinsteiger in particular seemed to come from nowhere and get done very quickly. That's a serious midfield they have now, and the signings they have made by mid July are very impressive. Think we have some catching up to do to be honest.

Not worried about them, they're still in recovery mode, trying to dig themselves out with gold shovels. Their signings are at least what they need considering they're probably losing van Persie, de Gea and di Maria. Those are some big players.

I wonder what Draxler is doing? We were in for him big time for a couple of years, then last season he got a bad injury and has disappeared off everyone's radar. Usually this is about when Arsene goes in for a player... to be fair I'm not sure we need a winger, but Wenger has liked that guy for a long time.

Yeah I know it's not always healthy looking over the fence, was feeling great with Cech and now Man U bringing in Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger has lifted them immensely. (don't know anything about Darmian).

They still need a central defender.

As much as I like Arteta it's not replacing him that is holding as back, fingers crossed Coquelin can be injury/suspension all season, reality will kick in though.....

Darmian is great by all accounts.

You have to recognise that Man U were badly needing midfield reinforcements, though - far more than us. If De Gear goes, then that is their best player from last season gone. RvP already gone too.

They've also brought in Depay. 'Signing of the season' has to be a big name right - I couldn't think who Wenger would go for and would get for under 50 million, he wouldn't go spending Pogba money right. Cavani? I don't know. I would love it to be a DMF to be honest.

I don't know who it could be in DMF that fits the signing of the season tag.

I can't really think of any big signings we could pull now - perhaps Benzema; I really don't want him though. Overrated as hell.

I'm guessing Reus, based solely on the fact that he's too good for Dortmund after the season they just had.

This turned up from ebay today. Its one of the scarves that were given free to Arsenal fans at Wembley for the cup final. Just had to have one.

Benzema, Reus, can't be too many others out there that fit that major signing category?

Brumbys might be onto it with Reus as no one is putting his name out there and these usually fly under the radar until close to the deal being signed, with exception of Cech!

apparently we are at the head of the waiting list for Benzema... if he falls out with Rafa. is he the player we need? yes because he is more lethal than giroud, no because Madrid will milk us for every coin and he will ended up costing more than Sanchez(while not being anywhere near as good as sanchez)

Man sometimes blatant clickbait really cracks me up

The Daily Star today running the headline "Napoli confirm Arsenal target Eduardo Vargas is considering transfer to the Emirates"

Of course they're talking about a transfer to the UAE, naturally.

So a friend of mine in Singapore (Arsenal fan who posts regularly on other Arsenal forums) has become an actual ITK. Few hours ago he sat at the next table to Wenger, Bould, Lewin, Primorac and Gazidis at their hotel pretending to be working on his laptop while listening in to try and get a scoop.

Few tidbits he managed to catch:

They talked very very little about transfers at all. They spent the entire 45 minutes talking about what happened over the past 3 days and analyzing every player's performance in training and also the match. I will try to summarise the important bits or any other that I can remember. It was quite difficult sometimes to understand because they used personal names for the players.

-Bould was impressed with Iwobi, which Primorac disagreed. Boro thinks Iwobi is not suited to playing on the wings and his one footedness makes him very predictable to defend against. Wenger added that Iwobi is better centrally but can be effective on the wings when you analysed his movement using their data prediction and stats analysis.

-Lewin mentioned Wilshere complained about discomfort after the match but on further checks was okay

-Lewin said Zelalem is struggling with fitness and can't last a match for 90 minutes yet.

-Bould said Gabriel is ready for the first team and Wenger agreed with that. "Very impressive in his anticipation". Primorac added that he clocked good times for the sprint training earlier. -Wenger said Toral and Crowley might need to find a loan deal this summer. Gazidis: "Yep, will do."

-Can't remember who said Willock has no future here for now.

-They talked about Coquelin's performance and training progress for a great deal. But basically they agreed he is the first choice for midfield. Found it interesting that Gazidis mentioned "I will tell them to hold on for now."

-Giroud fitness not up to standards yet according to data. Primorac advised Wenger to not give him the full match for Saturday.

-Wenger asked Gazidis about this guy called "Alex". Gazidis said "Yep, he's still in Berlin. It's will continue. Do we still go on the second one?" "As long as it has met the requirements we have previously agreed on." "They are not easy." "We have time."

-Boro said Vic told him the first training kits has been sent back to London first, along with the other items that is needed for next weekend."

-Gazidis then talked about some marketing and commercial stuffs which is pretty boring.

-Wenger then mentioned that some players need more close monitoring and is going out of schedule. Boro replied "I will tell Lawrence to settle this. He knows about it already." The rest is all about flight schedule, timings, itinerary, fitness, logistics and upcoming programmes which Wenger kept emphasizing to Boro to ask Olivier to inform the players.

Nothing major other than possibly Alex in Berlin. A scout or some club official negotiating a transfer perhaps? Take with a pinch of salt if you will but I can vouch for this guy. He's been to all the events so far (training, away kit launch etc). Also sounds like they are settled on Coq to remain as first choice.

Carvalho is out for 3months with a leg injury... Normally players get those after they've signed with us rather than on speculation that they are signing for us....

Another bit he mentioned:

The benefit of such a tour is that you get to see how the players and coaches really behave outside of their homes. Aaron Ramsey in particular is a really down to earth and humble guy. There was an instance where there was tons of fans waiting at their hotel and Ramsey took the time to sign for everyone of them, pose for a photo and even pose for a 2nd one when he saw that the picture wasn't nice enough. The opposite of him will be Giroud.

Interesting ...

What about a player ?

Exciting to hear about Gabriel. I really liked the look of what I saw last season.

Also really happy to hear about Coquelin. Can't wait to see how he goes again this season.

Possibly although saying he is still in Berlin makes it sound like it's someone we've sent there. We surely won't be looking at more attacking midfielders this summer.

Also the other day he said when they got to the hotel on the first day everyone went up their room except Arteta who went straight to the gym but gave up on a workout as he got mobbed by fans. He's basically stalked them from the moment they got off the plane!

Sanogo to Ajax on loan. Possibly Gnarby to West Brom, also on loan

The Gnarby loan looks a smart move in particular.

Haha not me, but my friend. He posted it himself on another Arsenal forum and blew up the internet. It made it to reddit, his twitter exploded with followers and the forum had several hundred registration requests yesterday, compared to usually 1 or 2 a week. It's quite a small mostly private forum - setup by a few of us breaking away from Arsenal-Mania a few years ago. It ended up being moved to a private section of the forum, but think it should be fairly safe on this site.
