Sancgez is officially ours!!!! Top signing. No fucking it up. Totally stoked.
(The not-so-temporary quite-official) Gooner Thread
Stupid work browser wont let me post images... FIXED
BOOM!
No confirmation of Debuchy yet though.
Someone posted a comment on the previous page "Wenger very happy with Sanchez and Debuchy" - where did that come from?
Talk of Khedira growing stronger, some saying a bid has been lodged but that his wage demands are very high.

Lee Dixons twiiter account. he is in Brazil too, and was chatting with Le Boss
Yeeehaaaa Sanchez signs!!!!
This feels so un-Arsenal signing a player early on . Hopefully more to come :) :) :) :)
Wow. Just checked the news and punched the air on the bus! Refused to let myself get excited or think about where he might play etc until an announcement. Having been through it so many times only for the player to go somewhere else at the last moment I didn't want to do it to myself again.
Great feeling that we're finally signing these "super top quality" players we've been hearing about for so long. Think he comes straight in as our best player. But the biggest thing for me is signing him so early instead of the usual deadline day scramble so he joins for a full pre-season. There are still more signings needed but let's enjoy this.
Interesting rumour regarding the right back situation...

We might be looking at loaning Jenky out (to Newcastle I presume?) and getting this spanish youngster in as back-up for Debuchy.
Is Khedira worth $150,000 per week? I'm not sold. Based on what I saw yesterday I'd be happy paying Mascherano that much, however.
Sanchez has officially been signed.

You don't know how fucking excited I am right now.
Best bits from Mangan's post on espnfc:
"It's very difficult to imagine that with Sanchez that improvement won't be forthcoming. Without Theo Walcott, Arsenal's attack is shorn of pace -- no more. With only Olivier Giroud as a realistic candidate for the central striking position, Arsenal's options have been limited -- no more. The Chilean can also play alongside Giroud in a more conventional formation, and his ability to play from either wing means his versatility will be a boon also.
Obviously it's the first deal Arsenal have done this summer (although Mathieu Debuchy looks set to be official sooner rather than later), but once again we've seen the Gunners take advantage of their new spending power. After shattering their transfer record on Ozil last August, they've now spent a figure which is still twice as expensive as that previous landmark figure.
On the day that Arsenal formally launch their new kit with Puma, whose 30 million pounds per season has swelled the coffers alongside the money from the Emirates deal, we're seeing more evidence that they're becoming big players at the right end of the transfer market.
The experience of doing the Ozil deal stood them in good stead this time around, and with Wenger's reported meeting with Sanchez in Brazil, it's a long way from the years of trying to find bargains and cast-offs within a limited budget.
It's a signing to be excited about, not just for what the player brings to Arsenal, but what this kind of deal means for the club and its growing stature in European football. There's still work to do, with a goalkeeper and a midfielder of some description needed, but to say this is a good start is to massively understate what good work Arsenal have done."
Can't argue with a lot of that.
Exciting times lads.
Been thinking about it and to me this feels a lot bigger than the Özil deal. As stunned as I was with the Özil deal it felt like was last minute and more opportune, not necessarily someone for a position we needed. This time around feels so deliberate and organised.
Wenger been working that magic on the beach, haters repent.
Official kit launch in half an hour.
Goofy666 just told me in an email that Rooney earns more per week than Sanchez and Ozil combined.
Now that's funny.
Live Kit launch:

Well that was hilarious. Some audio of Wenger giving a 2 minute speech about how great the club and fans and Puma are with a holographic light show at the London Eye. And that was it. You'd have thought they might, you know, bring out the kit and the live kit launch wouldn't you?
Yea that was pretty lame!
Here's some pics from arseblog taken at the event

We just signed Sanchez, who gives a shit about Puma's corporate event?
Thought it was just an intro but that does seem to be it. I'd hesitate to call it an "event." So much for that idea of signings being unveiled with the kit!

Of course it doesn't really matter, was funny more than anything. Anyway this is a great day to be an Arsenal fan. :)
Guess all the money went on the Sanzhez transfer!
Yea the ones on the racks even look pretty slim fit
I'm gonna play safe and wait until some of you cats buy one and give us the verdict on sizing! Too cheeky?
Sanchez to wear no.17
Yeah same, will try on the size in Rebel or somewhere before ordering it cheaper from the club. I don't buy the kit often - haven't got it since the 08/09 one I got 50% off in some sports store in London in the 2009 summer - but really tempted with this being the first version with the new supplier and all. Really love the away kit too so would love both, but that's probably a bit much money! Plus there's no doubt a few other things I'd order at the same time to save on the postage! I hope the consumer versions are not quite as slim fit as most of us don't have quite the same body shape as the players!
Good plan.
I buy a kit every year, usually order it the day it comes out so it arrives around my birthday, but this year I'll play it a bit more cautiously.......
Rebel probably won't get them in for months unfortunately. Unless someone is in the know and can tell us?
So much excitement. So although unofficial, Debuchy has signed too. Excellent times. We all know these are necessary signings, but that fact that they're being done, money is being spent, and quality is coming early is a real treat.

The Arsenal Fans in NZ facebook page said it will be available in selected stores around the country today and listed which ones in Auckland, but unfortunately they didn't know about Wellington. I'll go and check out Rebel Cuba Street at lunch time and update if it's there.
Just clicked that Sanchez has taken Monreal's number...
hmmm I hope that's just a change for Monreal rather than a sign he might be out the door, he's very important for our squad depth.

Get in!
So when you go to buy the kit on arsenal.com, Monreal is listed at no.18 now.
Lowest available numbers were 2, 13, 18 and 21. So they've given Sanchez 17 and pushed Monreal to 18.
Seem very odd to me.
Sanchez wore 9 at Barca and 7 at Udinese.
Breathe out before you expire Santi!
For some reason I dont think Santi will be wearing the tight version when the season starts..
