Tottenham are preparing a bid for Chelsea winger Arjen Robben.

The Daily Mail says Spurs know they will have to pay a pretty penny to keep the Holland international in London but sporting director Damien Comolli and manager Martin Jol believe he is the big name player to provide much-needed balance to the left side of their midfield.

Robben has also been linked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich in recent weeks, though his Dad and agent, Hans, insists he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Personally, it would be the signing the spurs need to make them into a Champions League contending team.

Your Thoughts???

I can't see Chelsea giving him up. He isn't playing right now because hes injured. He was important for them when healthy. Lastly why would he want to take a step down to Tottenham when a top european team would want him.

I would be stunned to see Tottenham go with a left footed midfielder like Robben instead of playing other players out of position which is a usual thing for there left hand side.

Would be a good signing...still, a big gap between 5,6,7 and the top 4 currently - and representation in Europe is only so good, you have to be making semis and finals for that to be something to attract a player of Roben's class...especially for the money he and Chelsea will be making from any transfer... Not true, Robbo played there against Watford and scored from the left hand touchline.

I would prefer Pedersen to Robbem, but what is clear is that they do need a top LHS providing width opposing Lennon.

As someone stated, why would Robben want to go to a minor club?

True, Sol Campbell has already showed us what happens when you do that. . . .

If Robben can stay injury free and learns to pass the ball or set up his teamates after one of his dazzling runs then we'll keep him - if not...GONE....and I doubt he'd chose Spurs if he goes!!!

Robben is the worse diver in the Premiership.

Who remembers when Reina (Liverpool GK) touched his face and he went down like a nuclear bomb exploded in his brain? Jesus Christ.

As a Chelsea fan I have to say he is an embarrassment with some of his theatrics......if only he could see how stupid he looks and focus all his talent into the positives of his game!!!!

Ronaldo is/was worse though and Drogba wasn't much better a couple of seasons ago.
